This is crazy. I know I've posted XBL Gold deals in the past and I can't remember one single post that was anything buy people thanking me for letting them know. What the hell happened here and why? I really don't see it as anything but Jay saying, "hey guys, here is a deal if you need it".

Edit: So I checked my thread history and I only made one XBL gold thread back in 2010 (Newegg for $3%) in which there were no replies. All of the other threads I created like that were just for single game deals from Newegg. 

Gold cards are not region free.  They are tied to the region.

The official answer from Microsoft is that Xbox Live subscription cards are tied to the region.

There was a point in time when they were not, but Microsoft closed that hole when people were crossing the border to get deals on sub cards several years ago.

It states that the coupon changed to $10 off $50 from $15 off. You may want to try it and see. It should still be a good deal. Discount on Gold and on 4000 point card. If you have an account, you may need to create a new one take advantage of the sale. Thread states that it is for new customers.
