exactly reviewers are getting bored of god of war because lets face it is sony's NSMB and M$ gears of war there isn't a lot of change between installments and the only thing new this one adds it looks like tacked on multiplayer

If you saw the trailers and gameplay, you knew what to expect: More of the same but at a bigger scale. That being said, I really like GoW games, i've enjoyed all the ones I have played and I have no doubt I will enjoy this one when i pick it up.

Also, i'd rather have reviewers rate harsher than for them to hand out perfect scores.

Then there's Gears of War trilogy which have all come out on XBox 360 and they all scored in the 90s. It is ridiculous. I sense a double standard here. I guess shooters get a free pass.


there has been up to this point 6 god of war titles in general and from what i hear there isn't a lot of change between each titles

No one cares. The PSP titles don't count as far as I'm concerned. 

There has only been 1 God of War game made for PS3 and Ascension would be the 2nd one.


they do count to everyone else but you they also released the PSP games on the PS3 so yeah they are as real as god of war 3

No, they dont' count seeing as how they are PSP ports lmfao. Anything released as a collection doesn't count. I assume you think there's been 3 Jak & Daxter games released on PS3 as well right. LOL.

they count because they are a part of the same franchise you can be in deinal all you want even god of war 3 came out i have seen reviews of people saying it is getting old 

1 PS3 God of War game. That's it. If some people played too much God of War that's their problem. If I played every COD game I'd have a hard time getting excited for the next one too.

Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3. Did each sequel reinvent the franchise or innovate 3rd person shooters? No, they didn't, yet all these games scored 90+ on Metacritic.

also 2 PS2 titles so don't ignore the existence of the first titles just because they are PS2 games

i have played and beated all 3 gears games and yes you are right that is one of the reasons why i am not getting jugdement at least until a 30 dollar price drop and god of war has the same problem

I've been a fan of this series since the first game, and my opinion is God of War 1 and 2 are 90+ games, the two PSP games are also 90+ games.

God of War 3 was where they made mistakes in my opinion. That game was awarded very high review scores because it was exclusive and because it was the first God of War game on PS3.

Personally I felt God of War 3 didn't deserve its 90+ metacritic, it seems for this game a few reviewers have decided to be more honest with their scores, which is something I'm pleased with.

I'm more disappointed in you guys after 7 years of the console cycle, yet so dependent on reviews. I can guarantee you this game is as good as GOW 3 if not better.

Let it go, a game does not need to be 90+ to be good.

Why would one mediocre game make you worry about another? Or even a few bad/mediocre games. It's not like they''re the same developer.

Judge a game only by what you see and the developers track record... and preferably more of the former then the latter since great developers can make crap,(See Aliens) and bad developers can finally break through.(Too lazy to look up an example here.)

Yeah, I'm not saying the game itself is disappointing, just the scores

It's a good game. Just not game of the year .
