No not just according to reviewers. According to a Podcaster who I really respect. But most important according to my impression. I have rented it for a day, and have stopped playing. I don´t want to call this God of War I don´t want it to be in my shelf next my other God of War games, which I all consider to bes masterpieces. This one is just OK I haven´t finished it and probably wont. Yeah there are some cool things, but too many parts of this game just annoy me. I would like to punch Tod Pappy into his solar plexus for making this game.

I think you have biased yourself against the game, because of the reviews.  There is no way in hell, that if you considered the other GOW games to be masterpieces, to think about Ascension to be just an "okay" game.   I am playing it right now, and it is everything I have expected for it to be; Brutal and Spectacular! This is the most refined GOW game yet, with great combat additions among others.  I know that it is not as Epic as GOW3, but I think that is because of it being a prequel.   There is no way for Kratos to do the same stuff he does in GOW3 because he is just a mortal.  So yeah, it is not as EPIC as GOW3, but it is really amazing, and better in other departments.  Now there are more scenarios, and not just the same mt Olyumpus like in GOW3.   The weapons system in Ascension is better than in GOW3, because of instead getting different kinds of the same blades (that are not as useful as the original), you alter the blades with elemental power and thus enabling you to some really crazy stuff.

I think you should be more open minded while playing this game, and let it flow.   Stop remembering all the crap you have read and listened about the game, and you will have an amazing experience with it, just like with previous GOW games.

You I didn´t enjoy it as nuch as other games. I always said, and it got confirmed. This is a game the world doen´t need. But if you have your fun with, then I am happy for you. I don´t think that its just stupid. I hate the story because they brought it from nowhere and it doesn´t make any sense.

Its time to put the God of War franchise at rest and focus on other projects. Maybe reboot it in 5 years or so.

Man you look like your just paraphrasing what the reviewers say that way you'll never enjoy this games (and yes the complains are retarted). I stayed up last night for hours playing this game and do to all the cinematic and gameplay changes I'm really enjoying it. On top of that the enviornment is similar to God of War 1 which brings a classic feel to this game which is really amazing. God of War 1 -3 are really amazing but SM really took a step up with this game.. So far this is the best God of War game I have played and I haven't even started the MP yet.

What were your impressions on God of War Ascension?

Well I am happy for you that you are enjoying it but I didn´t that much. Btw. the MP was really fun.
