GEARS:J is going to catch the worst of it.


i doubt it. GoW added multiplayer, something that somehow critics seem to be against, so they can "justify" the low scores they give out. gears J is pretty much more of the same, it wont score as high as other gears but still it will score good

Well yeah but Gears doesn't have mechanics from the PS2 era and critics have given GoW some backlash, they might feel less ..edgy if you know what I mean xD

those mechanics from the ps2 era are miles better than any hack and slash game out there.

Well yeah but Gears doesn't have mechanics from the PS2 era and critics have given GoW some backlash, they might feel less ..edgy if you know what I mean xD

those mechanics from the ps2 era are miles better than any hack and slash game out there. 

Yeah I know I know! I'm just saying that maybe (maybe) it's time for a change xD Too much of anything can be bad. CoD4 was amazing imo and look at it now.

 

EDIT: IM NOT SAYING GoW is milked! I just mean that.. with 6 games now, using the same blades with minimal changes can.. become a bit yeah. I love them, I really do. They're amazing. But maybe change the moveset or try something new for the mythology. I can't see another trilogy with the same blades. Even Blades of Chaos to Athena to Exile were similar.

yea i felt the multiplayer wouldn't be recieved well. they should have just made mention of it, and added it latter. seems you quoted before my edit, but GEARS will likely score higher, but i wouldn't think that much better.

New mythos, maybe new character (I can see Kratos staying due to his popularity but they need to really work on how they are gonna make him work) and new weapon(s).

Call it God of War IV because it'll sell more and just somehow tie up the ending of GoWIII to it. I always envision Kratos wakening up and seeing a rainbow that leads to Asgard LOL. (Although I prefer Egypt by far because Norse is so popular already and I know too much about it, I'd rather explore the unknown Egypt).

I'm serious... Castlevania and Bayonetta have a boring gamplay and for that I give a review score 7.3 and 7.0 respectively. And Rising reminded me Castlevania (not good man) when I played the demo... I will not buy the game.

So changes are good but bad changes are terrible.

but the combat did get better with each one, also the gameplay was pretty much spot on from the first game. GoW3 did things better when it came to boss fights and actual combat and puzzles.

Yeah it was spot on and I agree with the if it aint broke dont fix it. But at the same time: What can they possible do to top GoW3? I freaking cant think of anything. New gods and new mythology isn't enough if it plays out the same way. Give us something that feels as fresh as God of War 1 did. They did it once! They can do it again.
