Halo 4 is just that. "4". It's how they booted up a whole new trilogy.

Ascension ..is.. Ascension. We have no idea what happens next. It was a first attempt on MP, as well.

That doesnt change that both games are expected to be mainline entries to the franchise. Halo 4 at least settled in the high 80s, but this is a deeper decline.



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Go Egypt, keep Kratos if you want but give him new weapons. I love the Blades I really do but the mechanics have been the same since freaking PS2 era. Time to do something new.

There is nothing wrong with GOW:Ascension.  It is just that the reviewers need something to troll about apparently.      

In GOW3 people did not liked Kratos because he was always angry, and now they dont like him because he is no longer angry WTF!   The Gamespot review is a utter piece of garbage.

Isn't the game a prequel? so technically this game is part of the main series, just doesn't have the number "4". Kinda like Zelda which the main games in the series do not have any chronological sequence. 

Given the nature of the game most people will not look this as a spin-off, is part of the main series and it should be treated as such imo. The game will probably sit in the low 80's range which is not bad imo. Some gamers today think that anything below 90 is bad, which is completely stupid.

Its a prequel alike Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. And while they are good: I don't consider them (myself) among the titled '1-2-3'.

Its the same reason why the hype was severely lacking and why Judgment (Gears) is lacking.

Now if this was God of War IV, we'd be talking.

bold:There are chronological difference in Zelda games? I through it was the same Hero, same princess, same big boss, same world, same game with different graphics every time.

It is a disconnect based on expectations. Not the score. I think you are looking at this in the wrong direction. Scores are the result not the means. Gamers want a fun, rich experience they have come to love from the GOW series. From the sound of reviews they just sound fatigued by the series. They want something brand new. But if SSM changed things too much then they will get the same treatment. Jaded is the correct term

No it will likely fall under 80 is my guess. The worst reviews always come in late.
