People comparing this to Uncharted 3 and saying Tomb Raider has better graphics/presentation are forgetting that in Uncharted, you actually go to play in real-time within the sinking ship, while Tomb Raider just CGI cutscene lands you on the Island.

Tomb Raider is still a great looking game and it plays even better. I would classify it as a Survival Adventure rather than an Action Adventure based on what I have played so far (PS3).

Uncharted series much more pure Action Adventure... and does have the more ludicrous scenarios where they really show off their interactive environments and technology. Things that are far more difficult to achieve than higher resolution graphics and best in class lighting etc.

Exaclty, Uncharted and Tomb Raider are two completely different games and always will be. Uncharted's selling point will always be the cinematic story while Tomb Raider on the other hand is more about platforming.  I spent probably an hour today just exploring the surrounding land.  And Tomb Raider on ps3 looks damn good too for being open world and I would go as far as saying it looks better than far cry 3 which was an amazing looking game.

Eh i'm not impressed by it.

Just look at her top, her bra texture is like "burned" into her model. I wanna see real clothing models where you can actually see the clothe piece as its own entity.

I'm not saying it doesn't look good. Just that i wouldn't go as far as saying next gen. Tesselation is nothing new.

Like i said, there are other areas that could give it a true next-gen feeling and it's about time we get real clothing models and physics.

Who said anything about tessellation and next gen? I only mentioned TressFX, which IS new.

You mention "next-gen" yourself on the OP and Tessellation is mentioned in one of the pics posted. Nothing wrong with you thinking that it's next-gen material. Personally i don't think it is...

here can check the difference in graphic setting...

That's not at all what I said, though. -_-

"Steam just released Tomb Raider for us PC nerdies, right? Cool. So I go in, thinking it will look pretty good, but not expecting to be floored....and then BAM! Not only does this game look good (of course, it's maxed out on a PC that can run everything on Ultra), it is the first game that, truly, looks like a Next Gen console game. And it doesn't just stop there - TressFX, the lighting, and even some of the texture detail are a step above practically anything I've seen. Easily the best looking adventure game available.

Now, I'm sure many will take this for "hyperbole" or "me trying to show off the power of my rig", but no, the devs deserve all the credit here. I did NOT expect, even the PC version, to trump Uncharted 3, but it does it with little to no trouble at all. I can't stress it enough, if you can max this game out, you'll see what I mean! For the first time since God of War III, I'm in complete awe, and TressFX really helps bring that "Next Gen" feel to the character"!

Tessellation isn't even mentioned. And, having a look through the entire thread, I only mentioned tessellation in regards to crashing. I say nothing of it as a contributor to what I thought looked "next gen". Again, only TressFX.

Whatever floats your boat. Besides, you're being too defensive bout the whole thing.

Downloading right now. 3 hours away from it being done.

It is currently 10:45, so I won't be playing it at all today, but excited for tomorrow.

Well the hair could use a slight bit of work, but even as it is its 1000x more realistic than without it.

That's the thing, I mean it depends on you how weigh things. There's things particurlarly on PC that the PS3 just can't do, like high res textures, tons of foliage, physics everywhere, Tomb Raiders animated hair.

imo uncharted has the best animation of any current released game, everything in uncharted is animated to a T. Tomb Raider has some things that just stick out.

For Gameplay which is neglected in this thread, I was a bit sad to see the style of tomb raider underworld go, but there's a nice mix of a lot of elements.

Finding all kinds of documents and relics throughout the island is fun, because it's fully voiced by the people they pertain to and is interesting. There's some cool gadgets, fun platforming and puzzles,  interesting story, and the combats interesting because it doesn't use the sticky cover, and her snake like dodges.

I do wish the puzzles were a bit more difficult, but they are clever. I like it a lot so far.

honestly i prefer without it, don't forget Lara is so dirt in this game so her hair should be muddy sticky in stead of so well condition...
