Super metroid is 30 cents starting may i think.

Also, fuck yeah prime.
Just turn it on and go to the menu and listen to that amazing music.

Sometime you just have to be in the right mood.
The original prime is easily in the top 5 action adventure games of all time for me. It has such great atmosphere, pacing, music, art style, mechanics, etc, It ranks in the top, if not best, of the games of that generation along side RE4, god of war, wind waker, pikmin, fatal frame, etc
For reference I rank oddworld, sotn, jet force gemini, banjo and kazoii, conkers, soul reaver, tomb raider, silent hill and mdk2 as the best games of the ps1/n64/dreamcast era and uncharted, mass effect 2, portal 2, and mario galaxy as this generations best games.
Yeah, don't miss the chance to check out Super Metroid. It's got everything going on that makes Metroid Prime great, minus the scanning and plus more challenging platforming. I played it after Prime Trilogy and still loved it to death.
I wish I could wipe my brain and explore all these wonderful worlds again.

That's what I love about the original GameCube version. I have the trilogy and there's no proper intros like the original games.

Metroid Prime is one of my favorite games of all time, it'd probably be Top 3 if I had to make a list. More games need to be like it.
I agree completely with everything that's been said about it so far; the atmosphere, the exploration, the battles, world design, have yet to be matched by any game made since. One thing I like that hasn't been brought up yet is how well the game manages to mix up its gameplay. Metroid Prime shifts seamlessly from firefights with enemies to exploring a desolate world to gigantic boss battles to complex puzzle solving to artifact hunting to history uncovering, and not a single bit of it is anything less than amazing. It's a testament to the reason why Metroid is my favorite video game series of all time, it manages to blend so many different elements that I enjoy so well.
Prime's two sequels, Echoes and Corruption, are excellent games as well, though both games fit a bit more into the "Majora's Mask" kind of sequel category in my opinion, in that they feel familiar from the standpoint of controls, but have a feeling of being very unique experiences. Echoes is a far darker, much tougher, more complex game with tons of puzzles that will make you think for a long time and some incredibly difficult boss battles. Corruption, well, you've played it, but it's much more in the vein of Metroid Fusion, with less emphasis on exploration and more on combat and tension.
I really do prefer those types of sequels, instead of simply trying to duplicate a previous success, Echoes and Corruption take some of the successful elements of Prime and implement them into experiences that feel both very similar and very different all at once. But that's my opinion, people are incredibly divided on both games.
Anyways, glad you're liking Prime. Hope you enjoy what is, in my opinion, the best game since Super Metroid and before Okami.

here is possibly the greatest review ever made and all the reason anyone needs to play Echoes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dGLZEpceWk&feature=youtube_gdata_player *SPOILERS*

Good for you. I love Metroid Prime. I was just as suspecious of it going FPS as anyone, but now I prefer the "Prime" style of gameplay so much that I wasn't happy about the controls change in 3.

So true. The original intro/title screen sequence in the Gamecube Metroid Prime is a thing of beauty.

Where's Mr. Khan? He loves Metroid Prime.
@OP: I'm glad you're enjoying it, Gamerace :) Metroid Prime is a masterpiece. If it wasn't for Resident Evil 4, it would be the best GCN game ever made. I hope you'll try out Super Metroid, also. I would argue it's even better than Prime, although just slightly.
