Hahaha...no, they're ''accepted'', it's just, they generally aren't funny, they're predictable, shallow, forgettable, unoriginal, and are usually just a quick attempt to cash in on the fame of whatever they're parodying.

Parody movies can do fine -- Borat got rave reviews, This is Spinal Tap is still talked about, and Christopher Guest's other films consistently get good press.

True, but those aren't really parody movies. Satire, maybe? I know "mockumentary" is the term that Guest's films get slapped with, don't know about Borat

from just looking at the preview on TV this movie just looks horrible i would not see this movie even if someone offer me free tickets its just a scary movie wanna-be trying to cash-in.

 to be frank, Scary Movie's stye is a ripoff of Not Another teen movie.. or the one before.. I forget which exactly.

Im tired of the recent parodies. They havent been funny since Scary Movie 2. 3 and 4 were ok, but all the other types are just terrible.

I saw Scary Movie 1-3, they were alright. If this movie is on a similar line, eh, it could be funny. 

To be honest, it looked like crap to me though.  Looks like it's trying to parody everything possible from the last 6 months, compared to Scary Movies which kind of parodied all sorts of stuff.

But I saw Rambo tonight. We went for the lulz. But man...that thing should be rated NC-17...random limbs flying everywhere, someone tossing a baby into a burning building...sheesh.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I'm pretty desensitized to violence, and for the most part, it didn't really affect me, we were laughing at the ridiculousness of some of it, like the freaking powerful sniper rifle one guy used, or Rambo using a machine gun to mow down like 50 guys...sheesh.

Or Rambo setting off a near-nuclear bomb and outrunning the explosion, WTF!

But still, it was pretty graphic, it was like past Grindhouse caliber.

I agree.  The only good thing about that movie being out is that the commercials will soon be off TV.  I'd blame the movie on the writers strike but it was sadly probably made before.

oh please, you need cheap laughs sometimes. I've seen most parody movies. Epic Movie (sucked), Scary Movie 1 - 4 (1 and 3 were good other two sucked, and one other.. forget name.. it sucked too....

I also watched both jackass movies (#2 sucked) and enjoy the jackass TV series and Viva LA Bam.

And South park, Family guy, and the Simpson = awesome in every way.

You jsut need to find movies with cheap comedy that is actually funny. Or watch a movie with a ventriloquist, they can be very entertaining to watch if its one of the good ones.


 South Park, Simpsons, Family guy... all good.

Everything else you've mentioned... something you'd have to pay me around 20 dollars an hour to watch again.
