it was never announced it was discontinued. they stopped it in japan then bad and ignorant journalism got a hold of it. this statement makes it fairly obvious.

I'm sure he meant that Sony still had PS2's in retail channels. We have dozens of articles (from a simple google search) confirming that Sony is no longer manufacturing PS2's.

Just because an item is in a store doesn't mean that they're still being manufactured . I was actually pointing out the fact that people asked for an article or link about it being discontinued, one was provided and it was ignored.
Some guys are in denial bug there are no suck article that confirms the phase out... just rumors articles about Japan.
