Hmmm.....NES to SNES?

Around the Network

The real question will be weather M$ keeps supporting the 360 once the nextbox releases. Thats one thing I really loved about my Ps2 was how I was able to play new release games 2 years after the ps3 was out.

PS2-PS3 was 6yrs and 8months and PS3-PS4 will be 7years.

I would say Nintendo have had the best average. 5-6 years is enough fo a console.

Of course they will and 3rd parties will ensure it too.

You should do another one showing each consoles production life and compare the years, that would be an interesting read. The 360 may beat the ps2 yet, 12 years 10 months in production, 360 only needs 4 more years.

Difficult on that one.  the release schedule was spread over 3 years

So it didnt launch in the US until 1985 and EU until 1986

The Japanese launch was July 83 so thats 7 yrs and 3 mths, but that drops to less than 6 years for the EU.

Technically speaking, the japanese launch for both systems are 7 years, 4 months, 7 days apart

No chance.  I doubt anything will beat the PS2.

Depends on BC....

Congrats to X360. Great console. I could see them supporting it for a few more years. Not so sure about 12-13 years like the PS2 though. I could see it going 10 though just for 3rd party like Call of Duty

10 years plan

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

4 more years and they'll equal Sony's PS1. 5 more years and they'll equal Sony's PS2. Who knows, they may even equal Sony's PSP. We'll have to wait and see. Oh, but your stipulating 'without the release of another console' right? Surely though, when the PS4 releases this year it won't really matter? This gen will be over ... no?

The PS5 Exists.

What?

I do believe the Famicom had a much higher production life than the PS2:

15 July 1983 - 25 September 2003

20 YEARS, 2 months and 10 days....
