If PS1 and PS2 can break 100 million, why can't PS3? http://vgchartz.com/hwlaunch.php?cons1=PS2®1=All&cons2=PS®2=All&cons3=PS3®3=All&weeks=104 PS3 may have a slow start, but it will last longer than Xbox360 and Wii. PS3 probably will directly compete with Nintendo's and Microsoft's "8th gen" consoles. The developers dropped their support for PS1 too fast. But this time, they are not going to abandon PS2 any time soon. PS2 is still selling and competing with Wii, Xbox360, and ironically PS3. In fact, Nintendo's success with the Wii indirectly prolongs the lifespan of PS2 because the developers can port Wii games to PS2. I won't be surprised if PS3 repeat PS2's path. The bottom line is, I will be extremely happy to see two consoles from the same generation top 100 million. That will be a new record. |
PS2 was only in japan for most of first year.
PS3 will not last longer if people don't buy games, Wii will probably last longest due to mad sales and huge userbase
