Now I know we have a lot of Eastern style gamers on Vgchartz so I'm not sure how well you all will like this but I wanted to show a few things.

Three things.

1.  East vs West
2.  JRPG vs WRPG
3. Regional



First off when we look at numbers from East and West they actually seem relatively similary "IF"  you just consider nintendo games because now outside of Nintendo very few East games do well.  That seems odd seeing as how we have more Eastern fans on this website than Western.  This would also explain the Nintendo/Playstation dominance on here.  But let's look at numbers

Nintendo being the biggest console in the East you would think that in Japan they are doing very well and that they sell tons of games.........Let's take a look.  There is only 14 games that has sold over 1 million copies in Japan since the Wii's debut and only one of thos is a JRPG which is Monster Hunter's Tri.  The other thing to note is that all 14 games that has sold over 1 million has been published by Nintendo themselves.

To continue this further 73 games has sold 1million in the west.  Out of these 73 games none of them are JRPG games.  Isnt that odd?

Now this isn't even considering a western console like the X360.  let's take a look at how many games has sold more than 1m in the West. 102 games has sold more than 1 million copies in the west.13 of those games was Western RPG games and 1 was a JRPG which was  Final Fantasy XIII. 

But that is ok right because X360 is a Western Console specifically right?  So what about the PS3 which "supposedly" is after the eastern crowd.  I say your dead wrong.  Sony is after the western crowd plain and simple.  Let's take a look

PS3 has only sold 2 games that has hit over 1 million in Japan!  Final Fantasy XIII and Resident Evil 5.  Once again only 1 JRPG.  now let's look at it in the West.   In the West the PS3 has sold 62 games over 1 million.  4 being WRPG and 1 being a JRPG.

So let me ask you?  What is happening with the East vs West?  

This also shows how big the American Market has become.  For example X360 has sold 42m of it's total 74m in America alone.   

Uh....The West is just a bigger market.

And Japan eats up handhelds,

I just find it interesting since a lot of people talks trash about the western market yet they are the biggest and they seem to be on the internet less.  It's easy to talk bad about someone when they arent around but oddly enough there is more western gamers than any ther region

Why not include handhelds too if you're comparing markets.

Or are you just trying to make a point that the PS4 wil focus more on the western market than eastern.

Yes PS4 will be focusing on the Western Market once again but I was showing home consoles only. 

lol Yeah but since Nintendo and Sony are from the East you know the rest.

not sure man. COD is the only thing i could think of that can explain the disparity.
