I also for some reason think another insider might have backed the claim up at some point.  Though I might be thinking of something totally different.  I remember one stating TLOU PS4 would be released in June.  Don't know if it was in the same thread or not, or I dreamed it.

What do you guys feel about a reputation system?

Honestly, I don't think it's going to be a big deal in the first year or 2. PSN use to be so easy going when no one could afford a ps3. The high price kept the 9 year olds off the system. And showing your real name should help keep the shit to a minimum. And it could lead to longer waiting times to find a game.

Do you think it's worth it?

I honestly don't like reputation systems.  Feel like it's basically just a waste of time.  Though I think there should be a flag option to flag users who people think might be cheating.  And then the devs/sony can check to make sure they are or are not.  Might work, might not.

A reputation system is one of the things Microsoft is doing that I honestly like. Though I do feel that any such system should allow for some kind of redemption. I don't think anyone should permanently find themselves unable to play unless the system is setup so that you can say you don't care about someone's rep and will get matched with them anyways. It also needs to be a very carefully crafted function. I don't want to be given a bad rep by crybabies who can't stand that I beat them. I was actually reported for cheating one time on Modern Warfare 2, or so the guy said, because I went 28-0 for the match. He was certain I was cheating. That kind of thing can get out of hand thanks to sore losers if it's not done correctly.

Is there a report system in most MP games?  I don't play online much so I don't know.  Shouldn't it be easy for the devs to know you're not cheating anyways?

the best compliment ever is when somebody accuse you of cheating. i love it every time it happens.

I was playing it on 360. Stuff like that is typically handled by Microsoft unless the devs have a system that can detect you cheating. Even with every anti-cheat measure being used, people will still be certain you cheated if you're really good or just lucky like I was that match. It's not so much whether or not the devs know I'm cheating. It's the fact that butthurt players will do anything to get at you. If the reputation system simply allows for people to 'downvote' you because you were better than them in a match and they can't stand it, you can rest assured that people will abuse it and good luck hoping it will be balanced out by people who 'upvote' you just for playing well and not being obnoxious. 

Abuse of the system is going to be a hard thing to overcome. It's one of the things that scare me about it.  I hate to be cast to the depths of PSN hell just cause I’m good at a game. And noobs can't stand that i kicked their ass. I just can't see how a system could be effective without mods and you'd need thousands of them to cover millions of people and games going on at any given time.

@ Nnod Yea it's there but some dudes figure out ways to beat the system. When I used to play Resistance 2 and COD BLOPS a lot there were dudes who would spend hours figuring out glitches before using them on us, and some of them have been doing that for years. My friends reported them but to no avail (not me I'm no snitch). It's like the World of Warcraft episode on South Park (if you saw that episode).

Oh and their system for catching cheaters is flawed - often. There were some games I got really good at online, and I received messages about cheating. Thos incompitent fucks lol Made me lose my levels and money for having skill.
