My people. Sons and daughters of the PlayStation kingdom. For the last few years, we have been a broken nation. Shunned, oppressed, and conquered by those we sought to dominate. Nearly three years ago, Sony asked for time, and that time was granted, by you. You, the strength in Sony's arm, the holders of Sony's dreams. Our forefathers embarked on the greatest exodus in the history of all mankind. An exodus for freedom. The PS3 became that freedom. Our new console changed our experiences. At first, it weakened us, but in fact, we were growing... stronger. In the time you have given Sony, they have rebuilt our nation, they have rebuilt out strength, and they have rebuilt our pride! Our enemies at home have been re-educated. We have given them new insights into our cause. On this day, we stand united once more. On this day, those driven to divide us will hear our verse. On this day, we shall act as one, and we shall be ignored NO MORE! Defenders of the Sony dream, NOW IS OUR TIME!

General comments about the game

As for the game itself, I have to say it met my expectations for a GOW game on PS3. In fact, it manages to surpass it at times because some of the reviews suggested the wow factor has been immensely toned down. That couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s there in spades! And why do they refer to Kratos as ‘chill Kratos’? This dude is still angry as fuck lol Nothing could top his anger in 3 I suppose, but calling him ‘chill’ is misleading.

I’m playing it on hard and I’m really enjoying it. The combat is by far THE BEST in the series so far. It's a pity this game is a prequel. You can tell SSM had to restrain themselves because this is a prequel, but they still managed to make refinements in a logical way. I'd love to see what they can do with a sequel combat wise.  

I do have one complaint however. During some battles (so far only a handful and during the cinematic moments) the camera tends to pan out and it gives you a strong sense of the scope. Here you get to take in the majesty of the game. However, this comes at the expense of your view of Kratos since at times you’ll get a bird’s eye view of the battle, but I’ve managed to employ a work around (block, grapple, jump, combo in air tactics). Evading is the WORST thing to do in those moments when you’re surrounded.

I don’t get how some people could say this is ‘more of the same’. Combat wise, this game is WORLDS apart from the GOW games on PS2 and PSP. It’s really engaging.
