So it sounds like Tidux, the guy who has leaked a lot of PS4 UI details, is not happy about what was officially announced for 1.7
So no music player in this update? although it's an app so it could just be a download.
If you ask me, it kinda sounds like Tidux is trying to save face. He was the one hyping that 1.7 was going to be huge. It still is but he was hinting at all sorts of things. Now they're not official and he's acting pissy about it. "They don't deliver".
Seriously? A vastly improved video editor, pre-downloading games, option to use another method to capture video, HD streaming, archiving streams, adjustable options for what happens when you push the share button, allowing the lightbar to be dimmed, using the touchpad to navigate the keyboard, easier ways to find friends, trophy sorting, more payment options, and more voice commands.
Most of these were requested features and yet Sony "doesn't deliver" because some options he seems to "know" are running at Sony internally weren't released yet? For most people that I talk to the biggest things they want outside of what this patch adds are UI customization, friend notifications, download and upload priorities, and the ability to watch/listen to MP3 files. It's not as if this patch was just a raindrop to a lake of requested features.
Alright so now he backs off from being pissed at Sony and says that he thinks the update is awesome but he's simply disappointed certain features didn't make it yet. According to him, friend notifications have been running internally since 1.6 but Sony still hasn't pulled the trigger on them.
i really dont understand how friend online notifications werent an option day 1.. its such a snall thing.

Yesterday, an embargo was lifted for a plethora of media coverage for Destiny. With so much information coming out it’s only right that certain pieces were lost. A Destiny forum has come across some rather interesting information regarding the max level for characters, however.
If you were expecting to be grinding for quite some time to reach the max level for your Guardian in Destiny, you’re wrong. It appears that it’ll take “only a few hours” to reach the max level, with the effort being focused on obtaining better armor and weapons.
The social intent of the game cannot be overstated. Indeed, leveling up each character to max takes only a few hours – Bungie doesn’t want you to start the game then realize you have weeks of grind to put in before you can play against friends on a higher level. “You level cap quickly, but once you’re there the game is more about equipping the gear that lets you go deeper into the game,” says Green. “There are more strikes, there are raids, there are higher levels of PvP if you equip better weapons and armor.
“Equipping better abilities in Focus is a longer-tail process that takes some time. I think the game actually develops very naturally towards the level cap: players earn experience as they complete activities and kill things, and once they reach the point at which that stops, they’ve already moved on to the gear collection game, which is about doing activities and looking at what’s available to them in the tower. It’s similar to Diablo in that its about moving on to horizontal growth – trying new abilities, new builds, new weapons.”
It’s an interesting choice, but Destiny seems to focused around social efforts and allowing players to enjoy the game in both short and long bursts. The comparison made above in regards to horizontal growth makes sense, but shooters have typical stayed away from that path.

Considering that weapons, focuses, and I think even armor are leveled up... I'm pretty sure there will be plenty of leveling going on. Hitting max level on your character just means you gain access to all the different content. You'll be constantly leveling new equipment.
