But the accurate numbers will be in the regular NPD threads ;o |
I don't know, man. According to some people these VGC numbers are totally accurate. Nevermind having been wrong three months in a row so far this year. This time it's definitely different. Wait, weren't they the same ones saying that NPD is what's accurate? They weren't doing that to suit their argument at the time, were they?

Today we reported about the mysterious “Music Player Demo” appeared on Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studio President Shuhei Yoshida’s PSN profile, and looks like there’s more to that app than meets the eye.
A tipster that opted to remain anonymous spotted VP of Publisher & Developer Relations Adam Boyes (who is on his friend list) while he was actually using the app, and it included the option to join the session. When he tried, he was notified that he couldn’t join because he didn’t have the app himself, but he was also told that Boyes was enjoying it with another user, also displaying that user’s name.
If the app really is a music player (as also hinted by industry insider Tidux, who has already demonstrated to be privy on what happens at Sony), this could indicate the ability to listen to music with your friends on the PSN, which would definitely be interesting.
Of course we should consider this a rumor until confirmed by Sony Computer Entertainment itself, but I can’t say that the perspective isn’t intriguing.
Two new classes, new summons, a Gold Saucer, and Frontlines PvP.Huge news has come out of the Japanese Nico Nico Festival 3 regarding Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. First and foremost, two new classes and jobs are coming to FFXIV: A Realm Reborn. While one class/job will be centered around the dagger, the other uses a gun. It's safe to say that the dagger class/job will be Thief/Ninja given its existence in Final Fantasy XI and overwhelming popularity. However, the gun class/job is said not to be what you think. This leads me to believe it isn't the Corsair class of FFXI, but rather something new or related to the Machinist class in Final Fantasy Tactics (remember Mustadio?). Director Naoki Yoshida hinted that these new classes are coming "sooner than you think". Apparently they won't be included in the first expansion, but rather in an update shortly after 2.3 (the next update planned for Summer. Speaking of 2.3, Frontlines should arrive in the update. They are confirmed to be player versus player battles with a larger scope than the current Wolves' Den system. Some speculate that they'll pit three teams against each other with 24 players total (8 v 8 v 8). An outdoor dungeon will also make it in time for 2.3. Gold Saucer is still being developed, and Yoshida says that he wants to make sure that when it's released, it's something "big" and substantial. He wants there to be plenty of mini-games to play, and more importantly for it to do the iconic fictional location justice. Summoners will be getting Ramuh and Leviathan as new summons in a future update. It's unlikely that they'll be incorporated into 2.3, though. Full details are expected to be coming during E3, so mark your calendar for June 10th. FFXIV: A Realm Reborn recently surpassed the two million subscriber mark following its release on PS4. “We feel that the step up from the old generation is so strong that yes the PS4 has what it takes to really let the creativity run free.”
Bound By Flame is an upcoming role playing game due to release on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in May. It’s developed by Spiders and published by Focus Home Interactive. The game promises to have an intuitive crafting and combat system and is apparently looking like a very solid entry into the role playing genre.
Since the game is due for the PlayStation 4, GamingBolt asked the game’s producer, Walid Miled, about what kind of advantages does Sony’s new consoles offer.
“The PlayStation 4 is a great console it gives us a blast of fresh air and much more room to express ourselves. The game will support high resolution textures, shadows and post-processes. We also use the Dualshock 4 touch pad for shortcuts and the light bar for life feedback. A unified architecture makes things easier and gives us more time to focus on giving the player a great experience,” Walid Miled explained.
“We feel that the step up from the old generation is so strong that yes the PS4 has what it takes to really let the creativity run free. I am eager to see what the games will look like when the console will be pushed to its limits,” he further explained.
Earlier we had reported that the game will confirm at 1080p on the PS4, however it will have variable frame rate from 30-60fps. We will have the full review of Bound by Flame in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more updates.
