Rumor: Assassin’s Creed Unity’s Separate 4-Player Co-Op Campaign to be Shown at E3; Two Demos Coming

by Giuseppe Nelva (32 minutes ago) 0

Some attendees at the Destination PlayStation retailer-only event said that Ubisoft brought the most surprising goods at the show, and a glimpse on that might have just been leaked today by industry insider Shinobi602, who normally has a good track record with what his sources tell him.

Shinobi spilled the beans on the publisher’s E3 plans for the upcoming next-gen Assassin’s Creed title Unity:

AC: Unity, two demos planned. Hotness incoming. #E32014

One SP, other showcasing 4-player coop.

Shinobi, that clarified that is source is “not an article,” also mentioned that co-op won’t be like what we saw in the previous games, and it’ll be a campaign with a “separate narrative” compared to the dedicated single player story mode. He also explained that, like last year, we’ll see the two demos in two different conference. He finally explained that co-op in the single player campaign may be a possibility for the future.

Of course we should take this kind of leaks with the customary pinch of salt, as Ubisoft made no official announcement yet. That said, considering that there are multiple relevant assassin hovering around the French Revolution period in the Assassin’s Creed lore, it makes a lot of sense to team them all together in cooperative gameplay.

We don’t yet know how it’ll work, but if Shinobi’s sources are correct, we just have to wait less than two months to see it in action.

You guys think Guerilla Games' New IP will be shown at E3? I watched a video recently that said they started working on a new IP 2 and a half years ago, so they definitely got something to show I would assume.

Doubt it. Killzone just came out so they're going to be busy with keeping interest on that. Even if their next game is a new ip, it could damage killzone sf if announced too soon. Plus the studio is in Europe. A GDC reveal seems more probable to me.

Media Molecule however seems like a good fit for E3. They also released a game just last year but sadly Tearaway has sold pretty poorly. A new game from the studio could have the opposite effect as with Guerilla. A new game could increase awarness for tearway as announcements and reveals state "from the award winning studio that brought you lbp and tearaway."

More hyped for Watch Dogs than anything else in that poll, I'm sure my Destiny hype will start to build up after E3.
