Facebook buying Oculus could be a great thing for Sony, the two of them are not in direct competition as OR is for PC why Morpheus is for PS4. Facebook making virtual reality a more mainstream product will get console-only gamers interested in Morpheus.

True. Considering that VR gaming on a PC may prove intimidating and quite demanding on specs many people would opt for the easier and most likely cheaper console VR experience. Facebook could very well allow VR a type of massive exposure early on that companies like Valve wouldn't be able to give it which will only help Sony sell their own experience.
