Forums - Nintendo - EGM mocks Endless Ocean - instead of reviewing it

You're missing my point. If they don't have the time for three people to complete reviews of the game, either because they received the product too close to deadline or because they had too many other higher-profile titles to review, they throw something about the game into the Reviews Wrap-up. It happens all the time.

Again, this is NOT a review.

You're absolutely right, it's not a review. It's just the personal opinions of a member of the writing staff on the quality of the game followed with an overall rating.

CIHYFS?

I actually have the article, and it was really just a small blurb. I didn't really take any offense to it. I was disappointed that the only WII games that were given full reviews were fairly lame. I can't remember which two they were, but I would have to go downstairs to read the articles-- and that would require moving. Still, it was the first issue of my subscription so I can't really judge it much.

And that overall rating is "Trip to the Wal-Mart aquarium isle".  As is typical for the section, these blurbs are usually composed with the intent of being humorous, not to provide a serious critique of the game.

Have you ever read an issue of EGM?

Yes. Did you read my question to you? I blame Wii Fit!

I did read your question; I just figured that if you had read EGM before, you would understand that the section in which the game is mentioned is usually geared toward humor rather than serious criticism, that's all.

I guess the OP didn't find the humour in it. I for one am looking forward to the Wii Fit nongame non-review.

Did I argue that it's not a game? I argued against this attack on EGM for something that is entirely their choice and since there is a 1up review.

Also I don't know what Everblue 2 is and I've never heard of it.

Also the only one here who is doing anything ban-worthy is you since you just verbally attacked me with references to a 'boot in the mouth' and a beating on the floor.

Also it's no secret that many Wii fans here view the game magazines/sites as anti Wii and/or anti Nintendo and it has been mentioned several times, especially with regards to EGM/1up as indicated by people predicting that Mario Galaxy would get bad EGM/1up scores simply because it was a Wii game.

Well to be fair the statistics on their site do bear that out to some degree.

Their reviews for the Wii are twice as much below industy average as their PS3 and 360 average ratings.

Granted everytime someone brings this up you seemingingly stop posting in the thread and then defend 1up yet again a short time later anyway.  Probably because it's hard to back opinion vs statistics.
