What I see Sony is promising, and assuming they deliver, looks clearly superior to what the WiiU has, and the current XBox 360 experience.  I can't speak for what Microsoft will do with the next XBox cosole and its online experience though.  But, can anyone argue here that the promised experience of the PS4 won't be better than what is currently there for the 360 or the Wii U?

I was actually planning on getting a WiiU for my birthday tomorrow, but the PS4 had changed my mind completely, still gonna pick up a WiiU somewhere down the line though in 1-2 years time to see them HD first party titles. To be honest the experiance on the WiiU doesn't seem all that so far, maybe nintendo have some tricks up their sleeve, the consoles still in its early stages.

Nintendo may have something.  I just had to based the question on what is seen now.  Will see what is up.  Microsoft also will need to come up with something else to here.  If Sony also helps to kill load times, then that is a HUGE plus also.

Faster load times is something im really looking forward to, along with the share button, doing something epic in a game would feel so much better if you can show other people it on facebook e.g. scoring a wicked goal on fifa, ufft cant wait.

By the way, one of the reasons why I am not saying free online play is a lock is because if the PS4 dwarfs everything else for online experience, they then could argue they could charge for it. Idea is to outclass everyone and get paid for it, not come in on the cheap. With this infrastructure, can end up seeing massive online playing with no load time, across multiple devices, including the Vita, for an annual fee. It is bang for the buck, and very likely also priced less than what Microsoft is doing, if they do it. However, nothing is set here, and also need to see what performance would be like.

Since you've relieved Sony of the burden of actually executing on their promises, who could argue that Sony's fantasy is inferior to Microsoft and Nintendo's reality-encumbered online features?

I will make this point, though. I'm not convinced that features like a share button or Miiverse are actually substantial competitive advantages in game consoles. Much like graphics, I think online and social features see diminishing returns once you go past certain core features such as online matchmaking, voice chat, and connecting with friends. Miiverse is fun, but I can't ever see myself factoring it into my purchase, or even usage, decisions.

Well who's to say that the ability to share Videos will be free? Who's to say in general the PS4 will be free to play?
People will defend that it is, but theres no concrete proof till the system is actually out. I would say in It's current state PS4 will have the best online experience as long as It continues to be free.

Key word: As long as it continues to be free.

I won't compare to the next xbox because theres not enough info on the 720's online structure.

PS4's online doesn't exist yet.

Our imagination typically seems better than reality.

What is so special about the PS4s features? What it does is nice but hardly game changing.

ps4 online sucks because ps3 online games are not backwards compatible!!!!
