Considering the huge difference between these two incidents I think the amount of coverage is just about right.
You're comparing blueberry seeds with doped water melons here.

Sony was fined for poor security, as well...

EDIT: To add, the article states Sony used Apache Tomcat 5.5.23 . When the system was breached, the latest edition of Tomcat was 7.0.26

This is a gaming website. 2) During the Sony attack, it was confirmed (iirc) that encrypted user data, including credit card details was stolen. For the MS attack, it was confirmed that no data was taken. 3) We currently have interesting stuff going on with the reveal of the PS4, so we have other things to talk about. Or was your question rhetorical, were you merely trying to insinuate that VGChartz has a pro MS bias? Because I can assure you, nothing could be further from the truth. Every time one of those polls comes up, Sony fans outnumber MS and Ninty combined on this forum. Get back to making "Nintendo is doomed" threads . |
They won't get it because they refuse too. Good response by you though.

No. It's a real thing. If you enable it, the only way to log into multiple PC's is to get a steam guard code through your email. When it got introduced everyone got asked if they wanted to put it on, and i'm pretty sure new steam accounts either default yes or ask.
Click on Settings, then Manage Steam Guard security.
You can even deauthorize any computer that isn't your own at will in case you activate steam at a friends computer or a work computer or something.
Why is no one covering this?
Because this isn't as extreme as PSN getting hacked. PSN being hacked knocked PSN offline for a month, the Atlus Cloud hack....is that even related to XBL? IS this the same Cloud as Cloud Storage? If it is, does that affect anything more then just our saved game data? The PSN hack affected PSN users personal information, including credit card info.
---
Either way, the moral of the story is don't trust companies with your credit card information. Buy pre-paid cards.
What is with all the hate? Don't read GamrReview Articles. Contact me to ADD games to the Database
Vote for the March Most Wanted / February Results
@OP: MS sufffers so many security breaches in its products that one in its network passes almost unnoticed.
Because Apple and Facebook have more prestige?
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
The PSN hack was big news thx to Sony owners themself. The Call of duty forums were full with PS3 owners who were sad and furious that they could not play their game and had no idea when PSN would be up again..

What difference? There is no difference. No one gained access to any personal information during the PSN hack either. Nothing more than fabrication by websites that wanted to generate hits. |
Are you serious?
Credit Card information is what for you, public domain?
And add to that a month with PSN being down... Then come back telling me that there no difference with Microsoft Azure being down for 4 hours lol
