Forums - Gaming - Five analysts, one consensus: PlayStation 4 impressed - "Microsoft will have to bring their A-game"

I think Sony was smart in coming out first.
Wii U so far hasn`t shown what it`s capable of - besides X. Even the big first party are absent to this day.
I really don´t know what MS can do to do better than Sony. If they show Halo, then... :D

Jajajaja, that reads soooo funny. I could swear that the NES was able to pause/resume many years ago...

Not sure why this is a problem?

They will do what they have to do. I don't think there can be any doubt about that really given the ridiculous resources at hand.

Who said it was a problem?

Most of their talk is about PS4 having impressed

You misunderstand... I'm saying I dont see why MS having to bring their A game is a problem?  Of course they have to... and they will.

Is it stange that the announcement had no significant change on Sony's stocks or is that normal?

Out of topic but I'm curious.

And PS4 having PC architecture will be "a big relief" for developers whose development costs should be lowered "significantly" as a result, he said.

just wanted to bring more attention to that point. i think sony did the entire industry a favor by ditching the cell. i don't think costs will overall be less just that they can get more for the same cost.

anyhoo, i'm not sure what MS needs to do to specifically respond to sony. 1) show the actual box, apparently. 2) sony is getting a lot of traction on easy development so ms probably needs to make sure they say "me too" there.

after that, probably just show what they've got and hope what they've been working on is set to impress.

NES could pause the game, not the console.  there is a difference imo.  vita does it too and it is amazing imo.  i turn the system off mid game all the time and jump right back into my mission later.  i'm really looking forward to that with the ps4.

I know what he tried to said, but the way he did make it sound like a very old feature, that is why it sounds so funny. He should have said sleep and wake the console, not "The pause/resume feature", it makes the start button from any console "an ingenious feature", jajaja.

There were no pleasant surprises, which is why the stock dropped slightly.  Ninty improved though which says something.

That is complete nonsense and you know that very well.

Sony stock was pushed heavily by speculators in the weeks before Sony's quarterliy report, anticipating positive results. That didn't happen and the stock is now creeping back to "normal" levels. Simply speculators cashing in, this has absolutely nothing to with what Sony showed. They could have had a one hour demonstration of Halo 5 running on the PS4 on the stage, and the same thing would have happened at the stock market.

I don't know if Playstation 4 impressed or not. I wasn't that impressed, they didn't show anything really revolutionary. We didn't even see a console!!! I used to get really excited for the launch of Sony consoles but for some reason I just don't care that much anymore. I wasn't really hyped for Wii U either. Hopefully the Xbox 720 will be exciting.
