You should go back and watch the whole thing as you saw some of the worst. Most of what they showed, in my perspective was bringing Xbox Live features (friends, Facebook, chatting, ect.), some potential Kinect/Wii with the tracking of the movement of the controller with its LED triangle, and moving from phone to tablet (Vita) like Smart Glass.
I've had a problem with lagging so I can't really tell you about the FPS demo. I want to find it on another site. But it looked much like better graphic Halo Reach New Alexandria episode to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lw0A_3JjS4c
The two big clunkers were, and you saw one:
The Puppet thing with the Move - it looked to me like Wii Music all over again. Yes, I said it, Wii Music.
The 3D builder thing - yea it's cool, but something you play once. It's really hard, and reminded me of some of the multi picture stuff in Kinect Party/ Happy Action Theatre. Where you have a 3D capture, and you can add on to it.
I thought Sony did a decent job of taking some of the best features from Xbox Live and the WiiU and integrating them into their system. Now, wither they can actually pull off "the fasted gaming network," integration with phones, etc. remains to be seen.
They didn’t show anyone using the new touch pad, and it seems awkwardly placed – so I didn’t see why they put it there yet. Perhaps they will show how it is useful at E3. I do think the ‘share’ button is a nice thing.
I thought they did a good job, but did I see anything that made me go, "I HAVE to get that system?" my answer would be not really. I'll be looking forward to what Microsoft has to offer, and I have a feeling they will be not only integrative, but also innovative with Kinect 2.0, that room projection thingy, maybe those VR goggles, and stuff we haven't thought of yet.
