The economy is worse than what it was when the PS3 launched at $600. Video game consoles likely can't be more than $300 in this generation, or else it just scares consumers away.

That's very true, but both Europe and Japan are sony's territories (which could change) and they will buy anything sony throws at them no matter the cost it seems. At least that's what it seems like to me.

Japan used to be Sonyland. Nintendo owns Japan now and the dominance is unreal

Yep, I would losely say, Japan = Nintendo, Europe = Sony, USA = Microsoft (and some Sony).

Why do you say, USA=Microsoft(and some Sony)

Considering the current week on week sales (not necessarily lifetime) of the current consoles as detailed on this site's front page, for one.

Your point lol, Sony has clearly lost NA. Lifetime is just as relevant. Also why are people always saying current momentum (not you, although thats what it seems like you are also saying). PSP still had momentum when Vita launched and the "momentum" didnt transfer. PS3 doing currently well doesnt mean PS4 will, PS3 did horrible in NA at launch dont see why PS4 will open any better especially against Nextbox.

Agreed. Sony is really weak in America both MS and Ninty have more power.

umm, I think I agree with you in that the pS4 quite possibly will not fair any better than the PS3 did, even it doesn't launch at near $600.

As for region dominance, doesn't the figures in NA show that MS and Sony are doing about the same, maybe one better than the other, but still not by much.

I love My Wii U, and the potential it brings to gaming.

Actually, Sony shares rose at the after hours trading following the PS Meeting. Don't know what TC is talking about.

Thats what you saw, what investors saw was PS3 situation once again. Which wasnt good for investors lol. Expensive price tag and none of those games will push hardware lol. What exactly is your proof of better 3rd party support by the way? Destiny? Final Fantasy? The ports? Neither was announced as exclusive and both will probably be on 360/PS3. That wont help PS4 at all lol.

You clearly know nothing. Its nothing at all like the PS3. Its got developer support because its easy to develop for. The PS3 was the exact opposite. Its also not giving the competition, Microsoft, 12-16 Months headstart due to releasing this Year.

There are already over 80 developers making games for it. Some are making multiple games for it. It doesnt matter if theyre exclusive, because thats why Sony invested so much in 1st party development during the last 5 Years. They have a new deal with the biggest publisher on the planet, Activision, and continued good relationships with EA and Ubisoft.

On top of that, theyre also not releasing with a gimped, gimmicky controller. This is a superior upgrade, not a six-axis failure. Oh, and they have a top quality online system with PSN thats getting better as the day goes by... Not like the PSN of 06-07, which was terrible.

Wow have I struck a cord lol. Opposite? PS3 had plenty of 3rd party support lol just like PS4 so no difference there at all, try not to make things up as you go. Or were you referring to "easy to develop for"? If so, so what? 360 was easier to develop for, didnt stop PS3 from outpacing it. So being easier to develop for doesnt improve sells, youre just looking for something positive to say about PS4. They did give the competition 12-16 months of a headstart, they're called Nintendo lol. Just ask the PSP, Vita, and PS3 how fun it is releasing after a Ninty platform and I dont see how releasing next to Nextbox is any better. Biggest publisher on the planet is Ninty by the way. Third party deals? Sony has great 3rd party support so...... so what. First party games were nothing but games that would be lucky to crack a million. Finally, yes they did show a gimped, gimmicky controller. It had a touchpad they mentioned maybe once lol and the 3d camera that was beside the controller was the definition of gimmick. Long story short, PS4 is quite similar to the PS3.

No, what it shows is Sony as more than 10 million to go to catch Wii and 360 in NA.

I'm looking at the NYSE and it didn't fall by 4%. It went up by 2.4% or 2.8% after the PS Meeting.

Ya because we all know the exact price ps4 will be.   They won't to that again and investors can't be so stupid to believe it.  If the ps4 is $600  with these specs then what will the nexbox be priced at with equal specs and supposedly kinect 2 bundled in with it?  The least sony will go is $400 and the most they should go is $500.

MS can absorb losses though which makes them capable of selling at huge loss for a while, Live even helps soften the losses.

Yes, they can deal with more losses, but which one do you think people will choose if one is cheaper than the other.   A high price tag certainly didn't help sony at all until the price came down.  It would probably be disastrous for MS to launch the nexbox at more than what the ps4 cost.
