Producing a game for a Nintendo console is a different job. Like the developers at Ubisoft right now are claiming that "they don´t know what to do" with the GamePad for WatchDogs.

"The Wii U's GamePad is considered a "natural" fit for Watch Dogs, according to senior producer Dominic Guay."

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/393217/wii-u-gamepad-perfect-fit-for-watch-dogs-says-senior-producer/

is WatchDogs a Ubi game? isnt this the same company that said some similar crap about Rayman Legends, didnt they go as far as to say that game would not be possible on another system?

Yes, it is a Ubisoft game.

As far as I know, they did have to get rid of everything that required the pad for the other versions of Rayman Legends.

In regards to Watch Dogs, I found it pretty sad that a Nintendo partisan (heck, maybe they were just trolling) brought out Watch Dog as evidence that the Wii U had sufficient horsepower to compete with the PS4.  Yes, they did that, despite the fact that Watch Dogs is also set to run on the 360 and PS3.  Go figure.  The spin now is that, if the Wii U can keep up with current gen, that means it can keep up with next gen.  Blech!

Im well aware of that, but that still is not the same as saying the game couldnt run on another system, which is what was said, which was a blatant lie. IMHO, its all just a bunch of PR bs, ill believe it when i see it.

None of the touch screen stuff can run on another (current home console) system.  No lie.

The PS3 and 360 versions are not even in development yet because Ubi are looking into how they can port the game to them, the only version of Watchdogs that exists is the next gen version.

Something i read today which maybe ? highlights issues of 3rd party support for the wii-u

GamesBeat: Is the Wii U from Nintendo even on your radar as far as making games?
Yerli: We did have Crysis 3 running on the Wii U. We were very close to launching it. But there was a lack of business support between Nintendo and EA on that. Since we as a company couldn’t launch on the Wii U ourselves — we don’t have a publishing license — Crysis 3 on Wii U had to die.

they said the game could not run at ALL, that means a port of any kind would not have been possible. We are getting a PS360 version, so it is a lie

What this is saying is that EA refused to license the game on the WiiU even though the developer wanted to.  The theory is that the EA-Nintendo relationship went sour when Nintendo refused to have Origin as the basis for the online portion of the WiiU.

What does this have to do with Watch Dogs?  That's what I was talking about above.

Ubisoft did NOT say that.

http://mynintendonews.com/2012/10/08/ubisoft-explains-why-rayman-legends-is-exclusive-to-wii-u/

"According to Ubisoft’s Chris McEntee, bringing Rayman Legends to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 is possible. However, because Wii U is packaged with a Wii U GamePad, which features a 6.2 inch touchscreen, the upcoming platformer is a Wii U exclusive; if the game was coming to PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, to get an experience similar to Wii U, consumers would have to purchase a PlayStation Vita or a touchscreen device that’s compatible with the Xbox SmartGlass application."

If you really believed a port is not possible, even though that was never said, then you are just gullible.  Ports are always possible between machines of similar power or architecture (360, PS3, WiiU, PS4, Xbox3, PC).  It is even possible, but more difficult, when the other machine has different architecture or power (Wii - Call of Duty, Dead Rising) (Also why PS3 ports were somewhat difficult - the architecture of the PS3).

The port of Rayman Legends for 360 and PS3 will just have to play differently than originally intended.

I never said a port was not possibe, thats exactly what I was arguing AGAINST. There were some on this website and others saying that a port would not be possible, as per Ubi. (probably tried to use it as ammo for their fanboy wars). I myself never believed it, but seeing the actual statement, I was right about the claim being BS and wrong about what Ubi said, never take online people's word, lesson learned
