here's a question for everyone, who do you think is a better dev? CH, Gust, IF, or Imageepoch?

Gust, without question. Imageepoch is super hit and miss, but generally falls into a "trying to do a big title, but here's some major technical flaws" category. CH and IF have some nifty ideas, but are generally hindered by tiny staffs and very low budgets.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

I was interested in Toki to Towa when it was first announced. Glad it's coming here. The sad thing is NISA games hardly ever drop in price. :(

True, but for me these are the type of titles I find it hard to restrain myself from buying early. I can usually be fine waiting a year or two on action games, but a JRPG? That is hard to put off even three months...

I want to play a Gust game now :D was going to get The Adventurer of Arland but didn't for some reason.

I also think Gust.  Compile Heart, Idea Factory, and Image Epoch are garbage.  Gust is a better developer, but that's not saying much.

If you're interested, Gust titles for PS3 are on sale at Play Asia right now.  $20 for each Atelier game.  Rorona, Totori, and Meruru.  Seeing as they're the exact same game with different stories and graphical quality, you might as well get either Totori or Meruru and then if you happen to really like the series then get the others.

The Atelier games are not about combat.  They're all about time management.  Combat does play a big part of the series, but the series has some of t he worst combat in a JRPG.  Unless you consider using attack or one special attack the entire game good combat.  You partake in quests to increase your quest ranking, find and create items increasing your alchemy rating, repeat.  Depending on how much you enjoy this aspect of g ameplay, you'll either get bored you'll become a fan of the series.

Will get all four! I may not play all of them but they certainly are good investments if left unopened.

omg where is Tales of Xillia????! x_______x

I am interested in the second title.

Awesome. What a year for JRPGs this will be! We've already gotten Ni No Kuni and Fire Emblem. These three coming up, plus Shin Megami Tensei IV, Soul Hackers, Dark Souls II, Pandora's Tower, new Pokémon generation, Project X Zone, at least two FF games, and a lot more. Will 2013 be the year of the JRPG?
