Forums - Sony - NO SONY VITA PRICE CUT IN US

http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2415717,00.asp

"U.S. consumers are getting the short end of the PlayStation Vita stick, as Sony announced today that an upcoming Vita price drop in Japan will not extend to the states."

Open link for rest of article.

By extension this likely means that only Japan is getting the price cut.

Ouch.

Waiting for E3, maybe? Till then, Vita will keep dying.

Hasn't this already been posted twice? :o

A.P.D. isn't going to like this.

i'd take this with a grain of salt. i'm sure Sony wants to save something for E3. GDC will likely not be worth watching.

Didn't see it. Last stuff I saw were people goign on about the price cut in Japan and the assumption that would be worldwide soon.

It is a shame. This would be the approriate time to carry their momentum from the conference, through E3, up to then the release of PS4

This is the worst decision Sony could have made with the Vita. Now no one in America or Europe that knows about the Japan price cut is going to get one. The sales in Japan will go up a little, but why cut the price in the country that is basically dominated by the 3DS, when you can do so in NA or Europe where the 3DS isn't doing very well.

Add me! :)

The Vita is getting a large software rush in Japan starting at the end of the month, so they decided to drop the price because they felt this is the time it would boost most sales. When there are plenty of new games.

There isn't a large amount of software being released right now outside Japan so it's likely they are saving up the announcement for a later time, possibly even E3 since Sony touted the Vita as the "companion device" to the PS4. Besides, the international release of Vita was two months later than in Japan.

Well the Vita already got an (unofficial) pricecut to 199$ at the retailers in my area.

I'm pretty sure we'll see an official one in the west when some big software lauches. Probably with KZ and Tearaway.
