I have a Vita and a PS3, what is this "remote play" everybody is talking about? LOL it's not even close.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

You said "Who cares about who created it first" why the sudden change?

The Wii U gamepad is modelled after PSVita/PS3 remote play. Announced first and came out first! |
So Nintendo copied Sony copying Nintendo.
Mind-blown.

Exactly, the GBA/GC was created first, but that's not important so it doesn't matter who created it first.

Sony revolutionised it and paved the way for Nintendo.

I don't know if you're serious or not, but you should now that the WiiU gamepad took a few years of planning and designing and wasn't thrown together after Sony showed the PSVita/PS3 remoteplay.

Indeed. They showed their Gamepad idea as they orginally tried it on the Wii some time ago.

But again this WHO DONE IT FIRST thing really gets us no where, other than troll bait for a useless discussion.

So, in your own words. Nintendo didn't invent the Wiimote?
Research on the PlayStation Move began as early as 2001, stemming from parallel development of the EyeToy which was eventually released in 2003. An early prototype version of the Move was demonstrated in a technology demo known as "Magic Duel" in 2001,in which developers experimented with color-based 3D controller tracking, including prototypes using spheres.
Nintendo stole it from Sony!!!

There was that glove thingy and the gyrosocope control thingy in 2000/2001 but whatever, this is stupid. I'm not going to keep going back and forth on a meaningless topic.
The way I see it, "Remote play" or whatever you like to call it otherwise is nothing more than server-client type of connection - it's only logical in this day and age for all console to have it in one shape or the other. And not just consoles, nVidia Shield is similar product, and I fully expect lot of products similar to that to come to PC market too, be it full fledged tablets, or Wii alike, dependent fully on server.
That said, I wish Nintendo also went this route, making it an option and convenience and not main feature.
