I've also been contemplating two possible SKUs.

One with Blu ray....the other Digital only.


After PSP Go I'm not sure if they'll do a digital-only SKU again.

I'd rather have one SKU with PS3 HW BC. I'd work hard for that shit.

Well, there was that rumor previously that there'd be no BC, but that there would be a dongle...a chip that you plug in via some expansion port, and the chip has a cell processor on it. Anyhoo, it would be 100$ and allow full BC of ps3 games.

I think that's a smarter way to go about it. Everything is Modular these days.

Yeah, it was OK. Got worse as it went on though IMO. Got no interest for Diablo 3, that The Witness or the Move game, but the first Pixar-y game, Deep Down, Gaikai and Watch_Dogs looked cool. So a mixed bag.

My fear now is the price.

With the Gaikai announcement I'm not sure if that's happening anymore. But if PS3 is $399 and a dongle like that was $100 I'd definitely get it.

I'll wait for E3 to see what they say, but I might have to get a PS3 this summer first before PS4...

It would be too great of an idea to miss, but it's possible they might just go Gaikai even though not everyone has internets.

The only BC will be BC through the PSN/Gaikai.

Can't say i'm happy about that, it means I will actually have to buy a PS3 Super Slim eventually for all my physical games.

But it might be alright for ps1/ps2 games. I already own almost all the PS1 games I care about on PSN. Now i'll just have to start buying PS2 games on PSN in the next few years.
