Until the consoles are announced, what else do you expect people to base their opinions on? Good rumours mean more confidence. If it's all wrong, then it's overconfidence, but no one knows either way. The good rumours means there is more to back up their confidence than there is to back up your view of overconfidence. But things change, you could be right.

I would like the PS4 to turn things around for Sony. They've really been running through the muck for awhile, and I would like them return to prior dominance like Nintendo did.

Honestly I'm surprised you can't see what's wrong with what you are saying here. People (and I mean fans of all systems ps/xbox/wiiu) have been discussing rumors for months and months now. This is not something that is a special case for PS fans. People who find the rumored xbox info to be negatives aren't just PS fans..xbox and Nintendo fans feel the same. I have said countless times here that I hope none of it is true..for ANY console. It's not the kind of future I want to see for home consoles

You say you are being realisitc yet you target a certain set of gamers and ignore the rest. You are also ignoring the fact that we are on the verge of a new hardware reveal, and historically people who are hyped say hyperbolic things. This will be no different. That's just the reality of console reveals. I sure hope we won't see threads like this then. We didn't see them when it was a similar situation with the wiiu now did we? 

I will also point out to you that not all comments towards PS have been positive. When discussing the latest kotaku rumor article many have expressed displeasure in having basic online behind a paywall. 

Again the negativity around the nextbox has nothing to do with PS fans being happy or overconfident or anything but has everything to do with the a many (and I do mean many) sources claiming the things I mentioned in my previous post. It will be resolved with time for sure and the false info will be weeded out. Especially when the nextbox gets revealed. 

Damage control? Its clearly taking issue with the blurring lines between fan and troll, not the hardware itself.

Except with PS4 they won't do let Microsoft release a whole year earlier or be priced cheaper. Now, I'm not saying PS4 will dominate, but I'm just saying that comparing PS4 to PS3 is pointless. Sony knows people won't flock to their console, they won't make the same mistakes twice.

People having personal emotions about a piece of plastic......I made a thread asking people to be reasonable and not claim victory about an unnanounced product against an unannounced competitor and people are instantly mad. Wow.

oh and one more additional point..for a few months till recently the rumor was that the ps4 was weaker than the Durango. Guess what...people were down on PS4 then thinking it might have issues with 3rd party support next gen

Heck I have seen many saying if xbox goes with anti used and sony doesn't..sony will have a significant disadvantage with 3rd party publishers

But no one is mad tho? People are just pointing out why your view point is flawed
