Forums - Gaming - Google's stock hits an all time high

Google’s stock has reached and slightly risen above $800 on Tuesday.

The company’s milestone comes more than 5 years after it charged passed $700 for the first time in October 2007.

Google’s stock has soared more than 13 percent year-to-date and over 30 percent in the last 12 months. The stock has also climbed roughly 35 percent since cofounder Larry Page replaced Eric Schmidt as CEO in April 2011, as noted by the Associated Press.

Well look at this.

Meanwhile, Apple has roared ahead in the last several years. MSFT, meanwhile, has had a near constant stock price over the last ten years, you'd think that with all of the innovation that the Microsoft forum here gushes over, that they'd be doing better. Sorry, ain't so.

Good time to sell.

How is an constant stock price a bad thing when compared to ten years ago they had hardly any contenders? Stock prices normally go down when the innovations of the other companies nails yours.

WoW Great for Google. Those guys are really big :D

How does it compares to Apple and Microsoft ?

Good point, I have to agree that it isn't directly a bad thing.  However it leaves open the possibility that other companies can grow and eventually get strong enough to muscle you out of the way, and MSFT's bigger competitors are growing while it really is not, at least in terms of stock price and revenue wise its growing at a snail's pace so that isn't even worth mentioning.

You worry too much about MS.

They are doing just fine, let WP pick up some more Steam and Next Xbox Launch.

Windows 8 will sell shitloads this year since more Pcs are now full using W8 capabilities.

Dont worry, MS will be here for a long long time.

They profit 7b last Quarter, company like that you only have Apple wich profit 13b.

Insane.

Agreed, some of my favorite companies are those dependable one that consistently pay out dividends and have steady up tick over the years.

Google has done very well, but tech is so volatile that makes me uneasy.  I mean, I'd love to have bought some Netflix a month or so ago, but have watch same stocks plummet in ways us smaller fish can not afford.  I let the big guys trade the $200+/share type stocks and stick with tried and true marathon stocks.

Sold my Google Stock at $770 . :( I bought it at an average price of under $600 over the last few years so, still not a bad investment.

Sony Stock has been rising of late as well (About 10% higher this week than it was at the start of last week, that's considered almost explosive growth) It did drop more than on Thursday, but gained a bit back on Friday.

Google is a safe bet to invest in for sure, but Sony is a VERY smart investment because their stock price is low and gain ratio's are typically higher than most (though it tends to fluctuate a lot at times)

ATM its at it highest level in 10 months

...uhh...ill just put my favorite quote of all time here.
