Yesterday I was talking to one of my friends and he said that Destiny probably won't come out until 2014.  As soon as he said that I though woah, Halo 5 also might be coming out in 2014! O.o  I mean wouldn't it be weird for Bungie to go against there old game and a lot of there old employees Halo 5 and 343i. 

343i has a lot of Bungie employees so the two studios are actually very similar.  Bungie is an amazing studio though and I can't wait for Destiny to come out but I hope it doesn't come out in the same time frame as Halo because I think that could cause problems for Bungie unfortunately regardless of how amazing the game would be.  But wouldn't it be weird none the less?

lol no, Halo 5 will have a 3 year dev cycle, so 2015.

Besides, 2014 is the 10 year anniversary of Halo 2. Halo 2: Anniversary will compete with destiny. In which case, Halo 2 will win if 343 brings back the online MP.

if destiny would be also mainly a game for singleplayer and competitive multiplayer it would be fun but i think they are too different because destiny is probably all about co-op (not only but i think that will be the main aspect)

I don't think so but if it did, it would really hurt Destiny cause they will be competing with the huge Halo franchise.

yeah but that will probably be revealed at E3 if it is.  I doubt if it will but because Bungie and MSFT's relationship it wouldnt be surprising either.

Because in that case, its just a remake and Destiny can afford to release within the same time frame.

Yeah, I think MS will convince Bungie to make it a timed exlcusive cause the launch games for the 720 don't look that impressive according to the rumors (at least to me!). 

I fear Halo 2 Anniversary would remove the things I loved most about Halo 2 which was spending many an afternoon with my friends using crazy warthog physics to reach inaccessible areas, then sword cancelling everyone up to go exploring beyond the scope of the map due to hardware limitations.
