Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft Invests In The "Future Of TV" On Xbox

The Xbox is no longer a simple games platform — it's an entertainment hub — and to support that trend, Microsoft has revealed new information about its Los Angeles-based studio focused on producing "true interactive content." The 125 person effort is being spearheaded by Nancy Tellem, former president of CBS Television Studios who joined the company last year, and will expand upon the company's ongoing efforts with live events, such as the interactive polls it utilized during the Academy Awards. The studio, Tellem says, will be integral to the company's strategy to "pioneering the future of TV," which will include over 40 new TV and movie apps coming to Xbox in the next year.

Tellem discussed the new studio at the D: Dive Into Media conference this week, stating that the studio is working on a "pretty robust production schedule" with plans to "hopefully" debut the first wave of media this year.

Next year? Then what the hell was the update I just got an hour or so ago? :O

When they don't forget to deliver good games like they did until now they can do with the box whatever they want. But the problem for me with this is that the xbox-experience highly depends on where you live - americans have far more options with entertainment-apps than europeans,

The Xbox 360 console software is updated periodically with new features. If you're having one of the following problems, updating your console software might fix the problem:

Dashboard themes don't appear.
Avatars are missing.
The Kinect sensor doesn't work (flashing green or red sensor light).
Note The version of the console software available here is from February 19, 2013.

Not sure if their also 40 apps coming next year but their are also 40 coming this year =p.
