This video is epic... I will made a transcription from the video.

- In 1993 Sony thinks "we will crush Nintendo in the videogame industry"
- In 1994 PlayStation started to crush Nintendo
- In next six month PlayStation sold over 1 million units only in Japan (that's means crushed everything else)
- The next step was the new PS ad campaing "You are not reagie" (they predict the future president of Nintendo NA)
- Gran Turismo original time (tears)
- The best selling console all the time (until PS2)... mission accomplished "Nintendo crushed"

I wouldn't say "crushed" they kept making consoles but "dominated on home consoles" was definitely true for 2 gens.  I also predict Sony owning the largest market share this upcoming gen considering that them making every mistake that normally kills a console only was able to hold them to maybe 90 million I can only imagine what they'll do with a console that's on time and close to the competitor's price.

Not yet... But if WiiU sales continue like this they'll eliminate themselves.

I was talking only about PSOne era... Sony came from nowhere to the best-selling and dominant console... they really put a gap between they that Nintendo just came to became influent in the market again after 15 years (Wii era).

Anyway Sony killed Sega in the process too.

PSOne changed the videogame market forever... Nintendo have to leanr with mistake... now it's time to Sony learn and release PS4.

It's eerily similar to the XBOX's origin story. The only difference is Sony was much better at it. I know Microsft always says the original was only supposed to be a stepping stone but I'm sure they were hoping to crush the competition just like Sony did the previous gen.

Indeed. PS1 made gaming "cool", games like Tekken, Tomb Raider, MGS, Crash, FF7, Parappa, Ape Escape... A lot of mature games and also crazy games that didn't take themselves too seriously.
