Considering Microsoft got a year head start and still lost I don't see how they can be so arrogant when they have now backed themselves into a corner with all of their bullshit.

This is one of the biggest repeats of history coming up with the Nextbox. It's EXACTLY the same scenario as it was with Sony heading into the PS3. They were just asking for the initial failure they got. The bad thing is, if the Nextbox fails as big as the PS3 out of the gate it likely won't bounce back since Microsoft doesn't have the dedicated fanbase of Sony/Nintendo. There are very few true Xbox fanboys out there that won't jump ship pretty quickly if Nextbox isn't an instant success.

exactly.  Sony made every possible mistake with the PS3 launch and they sold what will be close to 100 million.  Xbox makes those kind of mistakes and I bet they don't make it to 50 (of course they will launch this year and probably nowhere close to $600 so the 2 biggest ones are out of the way)
