1) He's joking. 2) Game is early in development. |
Whether or not he was joking, there are other people here who believe him.
| RolStoppable said: Your bias makes me sick. I recently bought a Wii U and can tell you from first hand experience (something you guys obviously lack) that this system definitely doesn't qualify as a seventh generation console. Firstly, the controller. It's an outdated design with a touchscreen slapped on it. Secondly, the operating system. It's slow as hell. You also have to install games, demos and applications after you downloaded them. If I download something on a console, it's obviously because I am going to use it. The download and install should happen simultaneously like on the Wii. Thirdly, Nintendo Land. It's basically an updated version of Pacman Vs. I don't get how anyone can honestly believe that the Wii U lives up to seventh generation standards. This is nothing more than a souped up sixth generation console. You delusional folks will have to deal with it. The Wii U is a sixth generation console, albeit a powerful one. But it still belongs to the same group as the DC, PS2, GC, Xbox, 360 and PS3. |
I'm not a Nintendo Consumer, (meaning I don't own any of their current consoles) but by what standard are you making your assumptions of what the 7th generation is supposed to be like? Computer? PS3/360? Neither Sony or Microsoft have officially released their next console, so where are you getting your standards--from your own opinion? By nintendo's definition it's their next generation console. I don't really recall how many genereations it gone through (with all the handheld/home consoles it's produced), but I'm sure its tech--combined--should produced HD content for your HDTV. Will the content be prettier (Grapphic wise) than what Sony /Microsoft's current or future consoles can produced? I don't know, but I'm sure (my opinion now) that the quality of the HD graphics on the WiiU will depend on how well the developer understands & fully utilizes the WiiU's capabilities.
From what i've read in your post, I could detect a feeling of dissapointment which then leads me to believe that you had high expectations and were let down. Well, thats hype for you, if you don't like the system then sell it or return it.
Don't blame Nintendo for you poor consumer judgement, if you didn't do the research and let people talk you into buying something, it's your fault. So the WiiU isn't your cup of tea, please don't leash it out on the community that has different tastes and probably like what the WiiU offers them.
(edit: had to add the please, I'm not trying to make you feel bad. It's not my intention)
You know, reading through the early responses, and skimming the rest, I get the sense that very few actually got what Rol was saying. Half seemed to take it as sarcasm (and humour), while the other half seem to think he's talking about the typical "generation is based on power" idea.
Don't worry, Rol, I got what you're saying.

games like x didn't exist in the 6th gen, look at the size of the monsters they truly have the size of monsters from the 8th gen |
Pleeeeease. Shadow of the colossus was doing this way back on the PS2. Hell, God of War's bosses make that thing look like a rejected character from the land before time. HELL, FFXIII's giant turtle thing is waaaay bigger.
Can we explain what this thread was about? Or do you want to leave people in the dark forever?
Nintendo is trying to catch Sony and Microsoft but they'll find ways to keep their advantage over Nintendo, like obligatory resets after installing.
