Forums - Sony - Why hasn't Yoshida been fired?

He's head of Worldwide studios. His home is in Japan.

Polyhony had one of the WORST development cycles of all time for GT5. Constantly delayed over, and over, and over. It took far too long for Sonys killer IP and most popular 1st party title to be released on PS3. Polyphony only released 1 game on PS3.

Theres only one way that situation should be looked at. 100% FAIL.

If Polyphony needed more resources, Yoshida shouldve done everything in his power make sure they had them. If they needed more manpower, he souldve overseen that.

Then you look at Team Ico's project..... theyre were the "4 year release cycle" team before this gen...... SMH.... do I even need to type this one out ? The game has also been delayed over and over, wont probably even see the light of day on PS3.

So Team ICO released NOTHING on PS3 the entire gen.

Once again....FAIL.

Must be something along those lines.

The Last Guardian and GT5 failures fall soley on his poor management skills.

with PS4 coming out, I dont want to same crap to happen all over again.

i'm sure it had to do with the technical/Dev. problems of PS3.

he should be fired but it wont happen

VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3

He is making the right changes now. Cutting off the extra fat in game studios. Making bigger and more focused studios.

PD will have a lot of leverage in how they want to do things. Their games sell...very very well. What you need to think about is why they took so long to make GT5. They took a real long ass time on each car for that game. The benefit of this won't be seen now. But this means GT6 will come out much sooner than people expect. Ethomaz would know more of this as he is our residential GT expert :P

Team ICO is a mess. But it's a tiny ass studio. He again made the right move by putting someone in charge of SCEJ who is capable (the sony santa monica guy)..and I think we are starting to see the results now through games like Puppeteer. TLG will be made and be a cross gen title I think. After it's done Team ICo will go through some much needed changes. Not a good idea to do anything drastic within a dev team while they are doing a project. Not good for morale

I think he needs to do a much better job in other areas. You will hear me being very vocal about it post TGS this year if he doesn't deliver :P

Then Yoshida shouldve fired a ton of people at Polyphony.

Insonmiac had no problem getting games released on PS3. They did 3 Resistance games and 3 R&C games. ND is on their 3rd PS3 game.

If Poyphony was unable of handling GT5 development, their shouldve been a huge shake up at their offices. Turn 10 had no problem releasing numerous Forza titles on 360.

The fact is. GT5's release was one of the biggest mockerys in this generation.... something needs to be changed to make sure it doesnt happen again.

What the fuck? GT5 prologue, GT PSP, GT5 sold 15-20 mil between them. They've done great this gen, and their platform is 1/2 the size of last gen.
