This is clearly BS, there is no other explanation than he means all PS vs 360 [or at least PS2+3] because otherwise you are all claiming GFK is totally off as well.

He's actually being specific here, SCEE often refer to PAL territories as Europe, which leads to confusion as it also includes non-European countries covered by SCEE. I'm glad he hasn't done that here.

Microsoft have the same data as Sony, so I'm sure they'll dispute it if it's not true.

It's not like he's claiming that figure for December or anything, just for one week in a slow period post holidays. Is it really that hard to believe?

Nope going by vgchartz numbers the ps3 is behind the 360 in france and in italy even tho david reeves says otherwise. He is clearly talking about the ps3 out selling the 360 by 3 to 1, because he was answering this question:

We don’t often mention competition but I will give you some interesting data. In terms of installed base in some of our major markets, such as France, Spain, Germany, Italy, plus some distributor territories in smaller markets like Switzerland, our current cumulative installed base is now higher than that of Xbox 360.

It has not quite yet reached that in the UK. But the team here expect to overtake installed base of Xbox 360 across PAL territories in late summer. I would say before, but that is when we think we will overtake Xbox 360.

It’s worth mentioning that last week we outsold Xbox 360 in PAL territories by a ratio of 3:1.

i dont think hes being biased, atleast not in this instance.
we trust VG's numbers, there is no way ioi could make a 300% error on "others" data
and since there is no way to make sure if Reeves is telling the truth, we just make up speculations.

im thinking stores are restocking after the holidays.

hes got to be pretty slow if he meant the ps family, since the question was

How many different PAL tracking firms are there? As Sony does not run their own tracking firm (hence they wouldn't know 360 sales for a period as short as 1 week) they must be viewing some 3rd party sales data. Are there any weekly charts that have PS3 at 3:1 vs. 360? If not it could be a lie, or a mistake. Also, of course if VGchartz if off GFK will be off too. VGchartz is set up to mirror other sales data like NPD, Famitsu, and GFK.
