"IGN's struggle to remain relevant, burn all ties with Nintendo Fans for couple of hits"
Fixed the thread title for you, OP.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

Ok. Reading the article, it sounds like he's talking about gamepad features. I disagree though.
I'm surprised by some of the reactions here. I read the article and it's not about the Wii U's doom at all. It simply highlights the fact that they (Nintendo) are in for a rough patch but if specific actions are taken that this can be remedied as evidenced by the 3DS.
edit- I will concede though that the article's title could have been worded differently as it was probably done in order to generate more hits.
Wii U loses exclusivity of one game, Wii U is doomed and irrelevant.
Sony loses lots of money because of PS3, Vita selling at Dreamcast-levels, PS All Stars and Little Big Racing sold poorly, PS4 will be one hell of a console.

It's not the article, per se. It's the way he trolled folks for hits on his article, but teasing "interesting news".

EXACTLY. That is NIntendo's problem, they rely too heavily on 1st party. They need 3rd party support, it doesn't look like they're going to get it. This is due not only to Nintendo being Nintendo, but it is also due to the Wii U being not powerful enough for next-gen ports and too custumized for current-gen ports. To top that all of, that Wii U gamepad means devs have to be creative with Wii U games. It means extra work so a lot of times, it's not worth it.

Sony is maikng money on PS3. Are you stuck in 2006?
Vita is selling horribly, but it is not one of Sony's pillars. Besides they are focusing on profitability instead of marketshare.
PS All Stars and LBP K are both NEW IP. Yes, they sold poorly but then again did you expect them to sell on the level of Smash Bros and Mario Kart? I sure didn't. At least Sony is creating new IP, something which seems to be a foreign concept to Nintendo.
Yes, PS4 will be one hell of a console. Why? Because the PS3 is amazing and PS4 will be 10x as amazing in every aspect.

That sort of double standard happens alot around here though.
For example: with the Vita is was - "wait for Vita Heaven", "wait for E3", "wait for GDC", "wait until after Xmas", and now "wait until Soul Sacrifice". For Wii U, it's just declared doomed after two months, there's no waiting for anything.
It's some people, not all.

Wouldn't have been a bad article if it was written by someone who's existence was worth a damn. |
I hope you don't apply that same way of thinking to other people that have a difference of opinion to you.
I get that they could have done things differently but I think it's better to judge the article itself as it does offer solutions and hope for Nintendo IMHO.
I think your anger in this instance is misplaced.
