So how would this make us any different than a Communist country? Or, we would basically be like the exact opposite of a Theocratic nation like Iran. Instead of being a nation based on religion, we would be a nation based on atheism. Yet, we would oppress those who chose to believe in something, just like Iran. Also, forget for one second that the only world religions people seem to think about are Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. What about the Buddhists who care only about self improvement and self enlightenment and who never harmed anybody? What about a lot of the Neo Pagans you now see in this country who pose no threat? Should the government really be given the power to tell these people they can't practice their faith?
While I I agree that religious fanaticism has always been a problem and still remains to be a problem, you aren't going to solve the world's problems by banning religion. In fact, usually the fanaticism comes not from the religion itself, but instead the problems that society already has that leads to fanaticism. Also, the last thing we need is for the government to be taking away more rights than what we've lost over the last decade. Wasn't the Patriot Act bad enough? Wasn't the decision by both Congress and Obama Administration to more or less say fuck you to the 4th amendment enough? I think Americans should be fighting for their rights instead of fighting to have them taken away.

We wouldn't oppress them we would just hopefully try to educate them enough so that they would quit believing in their magical fable that denies basic rights to others like preventing gays from having the right to get married, women from having the final say so over their own bodies, and to try to get along in the world properly by giving up their highly devisive quarrels with people of other faiths that are bad for the world at large so they don't get the chance to live out their apocalyptic end times fantasy.
I just find it extraordinary that the President and others claim to obey the Constitution when taking their Oath of Office, yet they literally spend all of their efforts doing the exact opposite. It's just insane. I have no words for it.

Fighting Terrorism is seen as negative in your eyes? Combating Islamic teachings of female unequality, lack of free speech, and combining Church and state?
Ok........

No Weapons of Mass Destruction were found in Iraq. Osama Bin Laden is dead so there should be no more reason to continue the War in Afghanistan.
How staunchly do you cry out against the inequalities in our own country like gays not having the right to get married, women still having to fight to have the final say so over their own bodies, or the fact that 1% of the population controls a vastly disproportionate amount of the wealth?
Every time a Tea Partier says they want to put God back in everything they're denying the free speech of others, and they only voted for the GOP Crop of Senators in 2010 and for Romney in 2012 because they wanted to combine Church and State.
Religion is just a community building thing. But it should be left out of government.

Iran has a questionable nuclear program and Al Queida exists with or without Osama. Try again.
Islamic followers KILL their gay people in the middle east. Some Islamic women are chipped so their husbands can track them. Mostly though, they can't vote, pray in the back of the mosques, and cant even dress what they want. Oil barrens also are the 1% in the Middle East (people paid billions for their land with oil reserves)
You can speculate, but right now NA does not have Church and state together. Christianity doesnt factor in the crimes people do or laws we have.
Please, continue.

Yeah, Iran has a questionable nuclear program because it's not known to exist. And even if it does the Istaelis have over 600 nuclear missles. Al Qaida is just a CIA database of Radical Muslims that the CIA wants to replace with other Radical Muslims.
Christian Cultists kill Gay People in America and Abortion Clinic Doctors. Christians believe women are supposed to be subsevient to their husbands. A lot of them still believe women shouldn't be allowed to vote or speak in church. They don't believe women should be allowed to dress as they want or have any say so over their own bodies.
If Romney had become President and the GOP had won control over both Houses of Congress, then many people really would have seen how disastrous a Christian Theocracy can be in a major country if they've forgotten since the 1940s.
Why don't we just ban all stupid people? They are the real problem it seems.
