GT5, UC2/3, GoW3 Yes, Killzone 2 maybe, the rest, no.

I put "exclusives not my taste" as a separate reason because I'm not a fan of GoW, LBP, and I'm not as crazy about Uncharted as I am 360/Wii Exclusives.

Bleh at bolded, obviously your taste buds are DEAD! :P

Why I love Sony-

They consistantly try to out do themselves instead of only workin in the vain to make money. Sure, they are a multibillion dollar company(less so much these days) but they spend a lot of time just trying to be creative and I love that. Many of their games stimulate me mentally, a requirement for me to enjoy anything. Stuff like Heavy Rain would have never happened without them and I love them for it. I didn't feel I became a gamer till I got my first PS1, and they have kept me around ever since. Sony Playstation convinced me to go into game design as well.

Why People Hate Sony-

Like some have said, its not exactly Sony they hate, rather the fans of Sony they despise. The thing is, many Sony fans come off "Better than thou" to other console affiliates and they find it aggrevating. I accept this is something many think of me as well as I am a very opinionated person and will often speak freely about things I loathe. There is still some pint up resentment from Nintendo Fans from the PS1 era where their fav was dethroned instantly by the new kid on the block. Many felt jaded by stolen exclusives (like PS3 fans do now). It feels like over due payback for some of them so they relish in every possible failure of Sony. As for 360 fans, a bit of the same, plus the added bonus they resist the fact they bought into a shoddy product and an opinionated person such as myself takes every opportunity to remind them of it. Also its kind of "Rich kid syndrome where people hate what they can't/ or just don't have. That is why the stellar-ness of PS3 exclusives will be frequently downplayed as if  they are of the normal ilk by opposing fans. I don't kid myself into fully believin that my opinion isn't also skewed by similar outlying factors, nevertheless I feel PS fan's vocal issues with NIN and MS are usually pretty founded while the inverse is not.

I agree with just about everything you said here. However, I would tell Nintendo fans that still butthurt about the PS1 and PS2 wining those gens to get over off it as their console won the 7th generation.

I love Sony

Especially since they released PS+ as they seem to get that its not all about 'taking' and sometimes giving back to those who support them by buying there stuff. I also like that they are open minded, such as by allowing Valve to implement Steam on Portal 2, where as others flat out said no.

plus for me, though now getting a bit old, and not as suited to FPS games as it is others (which are one of the leading genre's now) the DualShock and there controller design is my all time fave.

The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them.

For a wide variety of games most of which appeal me. Not a lover of FPS. Games like Shadow of Colossus, MGS, Heavy Rain, Sly, Jak, Uncharted are all accountable for my love for Sony/Playstation.

Then tell me good sir, what large quantity of big bidget IP's does Microsoft have? I see you haven't included "Lack of big budget IP's" in your dislikes for Microsoft. Care to explain?

Edit - I see you believe Halo and Forza are big budget IP's? Then Sony has Uncharted, God of War, Killzone and Gran Turismo. They are big budget IP's whether you like them or not does not change this fact.

I don't know the budget deatils of each game, but I feel if you count the number of individual games, there aren't too many big budget PS3 games. PS3 has GT5, 2x God of Wars, 2x Uncharted (I don't think the first one had a big budget), and Killzone 2. That's 6 Games. 360 has 3 Gears games, 3 Halo's (3,4, Reach), and 3 Forza's. 9 Games.

Anyway, this is an opinion thread, I never looked up the statistics, but PS3 to me never felt like a system with that many Blockbuster hits. For you though, I'll Change it from Big Budget to Big Budget Blockbuster since Killzone didn't really sell that well, and I don't picture the new GoW doing the same either.

Sorry but you said IP's. Halo, Gears and Forza. That's 3. Gran Turismo, Uncharted, Killzone, God of War. That's 4.

i dont know why people dont consider heavy rain to be big budget, that game used a brand new engine for the game, great graphics and it pushed boundries when it came to evoking emotions from the player. the game also had 20 different endings. all that doesnt come cheaply. and now beyong two souls they built a new engine from scratch even though financially it doesnt make much sense but QD wanted to push the envelop with Beyond they made it. did people see what that new engine can do? did you guys even see that tara demo? or how great beyond looks? thats not adding to the fact that they got elen page on board to. point is, heavy rain and beyong are both big budget

I agree. Building a brand new engine and having multiple endings is not only costly but also very time consuming. Now they also have a very well known actor portraying the main character and that surely doesn't come cheap.

The variety in games and durability of their consoles.

hate
1st party games lack charm and qaulity (besides god of war)
die hard ignorant sony fanboys
they are not very original or innovative

Bet with ninjablade:

Ninjablade wins if the next 5 multiplat on the wii u are inferior to the 360 version.

I win if one of the 5 mulitplats are on par or superior on the Wii U.

Like

Their number of 1st party studios
Built in bluray
PS Plus

Dislike

Corporate/fan arrogance, even when losing
Choked life out of N64, Gamecube, Xbox, and killed Sega

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I own a PS, but prefer the Xbox. I think what makes me dislike my PS even more is the way their fans act online.

I love sony for it's games, PSN, trophies, free online and their hardware being more reliable than it's competitors.

But Sony needs to get more titles for Vita, make the vita and it's memory cards cheaper and definitely improve it's marketing and continue to make the PSN the best service out there. Fanboys come with every system since the Atari 2600, it's not the companies fault.

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

I love Sony because I love video games.
But also love Nintendo, Microsoft and all the 3rd party companies involved in the industry.

I play more Sony games these days because of how amazing PSN Plus is and because I got hooked on the Sony exclusives, but I love all of them.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.
