Since the Wii U was released after the Wii and is the successor to the Wii, we can logically deduce that it belongs to the 8th generation of consoles, which also includes Vita and 3DS, and later the PS4, and Xbox 361.

No, I am telling you that the Wii U was never going to get much third party support, even if it's hardware were up to par to Sony's and Microsoft's eighth generation consoles and if it were the best selling eighth gen console on top of it.

The thing is, 2005/06 everyone was like "Sure, let little Wii play with the big bois, it can be in our generation, let's see how it plays out *evilgrin*". Well, we now know what happened, little red riding Wii impregnated the two big bad wolves, who gave birth to lollipop and a really expensive microphone. So this generation, the two big bad wolves are screaming "Not next-gen! Not next-gen!" while covering their asses with their hands.

So it is about sales. Most importantly about software sales though, not hardware, but still. Nobody wants to pay the same amount of money for a watered down port of what they can play on a different console. If PS4/Xbox8 will be simmilar to each other and quite close to what PC's offer, as the rummors say, the Wii U will be left out again no matter what Nintendo does. These are the rules of the game, Nintendo consciously ignores the rules and gets punished for it. They really can't complain, that's what happens when you decide to choose your own path.

They are more reasonable than the belief that third parties are not biased against Nintendo and therefore it's Nintendo's fault when a Nintendo console doesn't receive good third party support. There's an enormous amount of prejudice when it comes to Nintendo consoles.
