Now I have seen all the drama surrounding this game from announcement till now I have to say I have not played it yet but it seems to be getting very good reviews but it does not seems to be doing it in the sales department.But the game has got a substantial share of fans that like it and want another on the other hand fans that dont like it for all types of reasons from what I have seen both valid and ridiculous.

What it looks like to me is that they have split the Devil Man Cry fan base and they may not be enough on either side of the fence for this series to continue and you know what IMO it's all their own fault.

It is their fault most definitely.  But, I think they were hoping the fans would a little more accepting of the new DmC.  Of course, people are just to quick to judge anyway.  I never played any of the other DMC games, but I played this one and I liked it a lot. You would think because it was getting a lot better reviews than people thought it would that even old fans of the serious would give it a try.

This genre has been going through some hard times. It's not the reboot. They rebooted it because they saw death coming and took a shot at revitalizing it. From what I've heard, the critics love it....but alas. Bayonetta sales are nothing to brag about either, and I damn well love that game.

Western users have been trained not to buy these type of Japanese games anymore, especially on 360.

Same here easy as its the best action game i have played in awhile. I just really hope we get a sequal as the game is great and i give mad props to team ninja for making such a good DMC game and could only imagine what they would bring with a sequal when their first DMC game is this good .

That's the only reason I'm worried about these sales because I'm afraid they may decide it's not worth making a sequel. I'm gonna tell a lot of people how good it is.

It didn't do bad.

But I think Capcom should start to see a truning point with this series. If DMC4 had the highest shipped numbers of any DMC then they hit their peak in this series. They need to do something to change it (in an interesting way) or retire it.
