Forums - General - I've noticed most theists/religious people on here tend to be Nintendo fans

I really didn't want to post in this thread again (because I so love reading through political/religious threads!)...

But let's try not to get personal in here. 'Kay? Sweet.

*suddenly posts a lot in other threads to get this off my forum buddy*

Good idea. I'm going to do that too.

@Kain

Okay, let's look at those quotes. The first quote says "Christianity is such a bizarre belief that it's hard for me to understand how people follow it." That's not an insult. Calling a belief bizarre is not an insult. Here's the definition of Bizarre:

"markedly unusual in appearance,style,or general character and often involving incongruous or unexpected elements."

So you're telling me that because I called Christianity an unusual belief, that means I'm insulting Christianity? Lol, I'm literally laughing right now. It's clear that you had a bad day or bad experience with atheists if you take offense for someone calling a belief unusual. As for the second quote, yes I called Christianity flawed. So what? Again, that's not an insult to the people who hold the belief. No one's perfect; everyone has a few flawed beliefs, including myself. That doesn't mean everyone is stupid as a result of that. Having a flawed belief doesn't mean you're stupid. In fact, many of the Christians I've discussed with are quite intelligent, which I actually appreciate.

Do you understand how debates work? Let me explain it for you. They usually contain two opposing parties arguing against each other, with both parties thinking the other is flawed. Does that necessarily mean they think the other party is stupid or inferior in any way? No, the fact that they disagree drives the discussion.

I'm pretty sure you've had a debate with someone who you though had a flawed and/or bizarre belief. Did that mean you thought that person was stupid or inferior? (serious question). If you genuinely have a problem with debates then perhaps you should stop going into debate threads. You seem to have the idea that you can't respect someone's belief while also debating it with the believer. If you believe that, then just stay out of political, religious, gaming, or any other threads created for people to debate and share ideas.

This specific thread wasn't serious nor was it meant to invoke discussion; it was just meant to note an interesting coincidence I've observed. The "correlations" I mentioned in the OP are obviously jokes. In fact, look around and you'll see Nintendo fans and Theists alike posting in a light-hearted manner. It seems like you are the only one offended.

I already told you that I discuss religion for two reasons: (1) to persuade Theists to challenge their beliefs, and (2) to have a discussion for the sake of discussion. I don't necessarily care if I convert Theists of not (in fact, most times I know I won't). Oftentimes the discussion themselves are interesting enough to have on its own terms, even if no one converts.

Surprisingly enough, even many Theists have told me that they enjoy the discussions we have. So its clear that you do not speak for all Theists. It is you, personally, who has a problem with religious debates (and debates in general). So again, you should avoid any threads meant for opposing ideas since you take offense when people think another person'a belief is flawed. That way, I and other Theists can continue our discussion while you can never be offended again.
