I would like a list of every familiar like a pokedex to be honest so I can see who is good and who isn't but if you all don't know of a website I can find them can you guys recommend some familiars in each area to get?
Familiars use Stardrops, Sundrops, Moondrops and Planetdrops (and their Jumbo versions) to Metamorphosize from one form to a "better" form. Each familiar goes through its base form, second form, and then must decide on one of two final (or third) forms (denoted by the 
and 
since the evolution tree splits in that fashion).
Examine each of the forms' new resistances and alignments, as they will radically change the role of a familiar in battle. A melee heavy familiar can metamorphosize and become a back-up familiar and vice-versa. All of the following creatures may be found in the game's Wizard's Compendium (check your sub-screen). Here is a list of the fourteen different genuses(in alpahbetical order):
