Look where I posted this thread? Its not in the Nintendo forums so go make your own thread about Mario and Pokemon, I don't care about those games, none of those games take me back to a time when I was playing for example Chrono Cross or Jak&Daxter a decade ago.

Yeah I understand that. But thanks to your somewhat usual habbit of misleading readers with your title. You're implying that the genre is GENERALLY neglected. But when in truth, you just dont care about Mario and Pokemon thus turning a blind eye and motivating you to make this thread.

In response to a possible reply: Your title also implies that only the Ps3 exclusives (that you mentioned in the OP) that finally revives the neglected genres.

Mario and Pokemon have ALWAYS been there. Like I said: just because Nintendo keep on making them doesn't mean the genres haven't been neglected.

Ehh... what??

What is your question? Formulate it better so I can prepare an answer for you.

Why do people still fall for Turkish's shit at this point?

The guy is so obvious. Sly, but obvious enough.

Question if Xenoblade was released on PS3 and not Wii would it of took you back to your child hood?. If the answer is no then how does NinoKuni as you never played it in your child hood and just like Xenoblade is a new IP. If anything Xenoblade should bring you back to your child hood more sense its related to Xenogears/Xenosaga in a way

What a waste of words, time, energy and VGC server memory. If you know what I mean.

What do you mean?

If Nintendo consoles would have been THE home of JRPG, then I would have bought them, which I didn't.

I think that both Nintendo and Sony, in their respective consoles and handhelds, are strong hosts to the genere, it just depends what kind of JRPGs you love. Then, there's the lack of translated editions for the western market, who further gives an untrue overview of the market.

For example, I went for the PSP, instead, and got Last Ranker, Senritsu no Stratus, Final Fantasy Type 0, the remake of Persona 3, Fate/Extra, two Valyria Chronicles, Y's Seven, and many others... Each one of them appeals to me much more than any Dragon Quest or Pokemon. And it's of no interest to me if, thanks to underage consumers, Pokemon sells millions while Last Ranker sells a little over one hundred thousands; I care for JPRGs that are fun to play for me, and those run mostly on Sony systems. And yet, for non Japanese speakers, most of those games are, basically, non-existent, as they were never translated, and never will.

But please, don't say that Nintendo is the environment where JRPGs thrived, because this is a very imprecise and uninformed statement.

Are you really trying to say that the DS (since you meantion psp this is what i think you mean??) only had Dragon Quest and Pokemon as their JRPG's??.

You need a lot of imaginative power to think that I was meaning this, because, in the same post I wrote (quoting myself):

"I think that both Nintendo and Sony, in their respective consoles and handhelds, are strong hosts to the genere".

Instead of asking him what he means why didnt you reply to what i asked you??

Relax buddy I have time, I would get back at you don't worry.

The answer to your question is no. Ninokuni feels very oldskool wit the traditional overworld to get to new destinations, the puzzles, the dialogue, I watched a lot of Ghibli movies as a kid so it really helps bring me back to my childhood.  What exactly is the connection of Xenoblade with Xenogears then? Are they situated in the same world? Does Xenoblade have the same mind fuck as Gears? We have xenoblade at home, my brother played it and I watched him play. I agree it looks like a great rpg.

Don't be paranoid, no secret agenda with this thread. Stop derailing my thread with your nonsense and get out if you have nothing constructive to say.

Xenoblade in terms of gaming has more of a connection with your childhood then Ninokuni does. Also talking about old school gaming where where you for Lost Odysee?? didnt see you on that hype train lulz..

The reason why people are posting such things in this thread is cos of your title. Exactly how have Sony or should i say PS3 Revived them 2 genres or made them have a comeback??

I'll rip my brothers wii disc and play the iso on Dolphin in HD when I have time then.
Lost Odyssey came out at 5 years ago, thats a long ass time. I have a love/hate relationship with Lost Odyssey, it is the only game that made me almost go insane. The last disc was packaged in an envelope here in Europe. It was giving DRE's, I bought 2 more versions in other stores, they also didn't work. I tried the boiling water trick(look it up lulz), didn't work.  I never finished the game. 40 hours of playtime wasted. If I ever see the people that made the packaging I will beat the shit out of them!

I don't think there is anything wrong with the title though, it doesn't imply that Sony or PS3 revived the genre, they just made a comeback after a long neglicence. Most people in the thread are Nintendo fans, they blindly hate whatever I type.

Turkish, you should have said on Sony consoles, but even then you would be dead wrong. As there have been JRPGs coming for a while. And we've been getting platformers all gen long on PS3, its called PSN look it up. Now if you are talking straight 3d platformers then yeah. ANd no Ninty, fans, one or two Jrpgs or 3d platformers doesnt mean that Ninty ruled those genres, please. There are probably as much JRPGS released on Wii as there were on PS3, probably less.

I wont say about JRPGS but are you really trying to say nintendo doesnt rule the 3D platform genre???

They pretty much made the 3D platform genre so yeah they rule it lulz xD

I always thought Jumping Flash made the 3d Genre pretty much(you'll be surprised which company made this game-not nintendo)

Ni No kuni is just an JRPG that genre was not neglected in any way. Maybe by users but thats their own fault.

NoNoKuni is also not the JRPG savior people want it to be.
