A delay at this juncture implies some late-cycle development problem, so its possible that such a thing would come to pass. My belief was in a GOTY-version-port, which would have lined up for a late 2013 release anyway

From everything I saw on GAF and elsewhere, it is not believed to be delayed for ports to the Wii U or PC.

I was thinking about this, and I think Nintendo should do everything possible to get GTA 5 on Wii U. Whatever it takes.

GTA is the game that can put a stop to all this "Nintendo is kiddy" attitude from some gamers. That's what Nintendo needs this game for. Not for sales, and not because GTA is a great game.

Nintendo should get GTA 5 but also strike a deal with Rockstar to make Grand Theft Auto; San Andreas Stories. Exclusive on the Wii U. Whatever it costs.

GTA5 is the single biggest 3rd party game WiiU needs, that isn't exclusive. It would kill talk of being not for adults or that it won't get 3rd party support. Reggie is on record as saying he wants GTA. I think it's likely that Nintendo has been doing everything they can to get this game. The delay could very well coincide with a February DC or E3 announcement of the game coming to WiiU as well. It would make very good sense for Nintendo to pay to make it happen. A million or two to port the game would be better spent than a million or two on advertising.

That is a very good question, but why would the consoles sell less because of it? Why can't be the game the one that gets hurt and sell less?

And what will happen if one of the next consoles is backwards compatible but the other one no? Could/Would that affect their initial sales?

About the delay, if the delay is necessary to make the game as good as possible then so be it.

I look forward but i'm disappointed as i was looking forward to spending the whole summer just playing this, oh well nevermind. September is OK as long as there are no more delays!

Ah! This game is gonna completely undermine next-gen unless the consoles are backwards compatible.

Well considering I've been waiting for this since 2008...another 5 months (was expecting April release) won't kill me.

I guess they're right, will be worth the extra polish. I mean 3 friggin main characters, biggest city in the series' history (I didn't make that up did I?) and jets and all that...worth the wait. But damn I can't wait to kill hookers.
