It's basically the same, browser based drawing. Usually the applet has opacity (transparency) settings, things of that nature that let you shade better with the mouse.. oekaki just means "picture drawing" or just "scribble". oekaki, the style is usually browser based drawing applet and it is pixelated like those images you can see in the board... if you put it in google images, you'll see what I mean. You post it in BBS (forums/boards) just like the doodle or die does...

Same concept, just the art style I guess is a little more specific?
