dont trust forum hype, just see how much the last of us is hyped on here and how little GTA5 is, then go on youtube see the views for each ones trailer. that would give u a bigger undertand of which one is more hyped. my point? dont trust forum hype |
Not a single trailer for Gears of War: Judgment has over 1 million views on Youtube. God of War: Ascension has loads of videos with over 1 million, The Last of Us has a couple of videos over 1 million and some are even 2-3 million. GTAV with only 2 trailers has 50 million views.
And if you do look at the comments made on Gears of War: Judgment videos and posts on the Facebook fan groups most people are pissed off about the games multiplayer due to changes, I really think the game will sell significantly less than any of its predecessors, it will still sell decently though.

THAT is a bold prediction for Soul Sacrifice. It's tough to judge Japanese hype (where handhelds sell the most), but unless we get a price drop I don't see Vita's install base being high enough for those sort of numbers this year. Splinter Cell should sell more on 360 shouldn't it? I thought that franchise was xbox geared didn't they get an exclusive entry or something? Other than that I mostly agree. I think one of these early PS exclusives will be bundled come Christmas or maybe PSallstars to boost sales for a PS4 sequel. |
I think that Soul Sacrifice might sell at the level of MH games in Japan, due to heir similarity and he fact that its being developed by Keiji Inafune. Also I remember that Soul Sacrifice has had a huge response at TGS 2012. As for Splinter Cell, I think that by the time of its release the PS3 install base will surpass Xbox 360 install base. So I estimated the relative sales considering that its an Xbox-geared franchise.

I think so due to a lack of hype.

I got to disagree with you. I'll be surprised if it opens to 1.5m. 2.2m sales in 1 week is completely out of the question right now for Gears of War. Not enough hype for the game and it's being made by a different studio.
You're way off on GTA5 (will end up around 52/48 or 51/49 percent in favour of either console).
Blacklist: ... Just no.

like I said I have no idea when it comes to Japanese hype but I'll take your word for it. Maybe the Vita install base will be high enough considering its coming out early in the year and I'm expecting both PS3 and Vita to be $200 by E3. It could happen I guess, but still bold. I agree with Gears as the pre-order numbers are abysmal and there seems to be no hype around it even with all the VGA trailers and other media for it. Compare that to GoW and it has over twice as many pre-orders with only a little bit of SP shown which is the main selling point of that franchise.
Your numbers seem a little biased.
GTAV will sell more on 360
Sony's exclusives are unrealistic.

remember its the whole year and GTAV only has a little more pre-orders on 360 (normally PS3 games close the gap like how COD now is selling more on PS3 so a small lead indicates that after a couple weeks GTAV will be selling more on PS3). LoU is a wildcard because it's a new IP but the pre-orders are very high and it will have legs like every PS exclusive. GoW has a much higher install base than GoW3 did although smaller pre-orders so I would agree there but it may be bundled come Christmas (although I think PSallstars is more likely).
Soul Sacrifice doing 3.4 M would mean an attach rate near 50%, I don't think it'll do it.
