I was just in my local used game store and saw this:

This seems pretty pricey, even for a GCN Zelda game, but then I checked eBay; the buy-it-now options are similarly priced. 0_0

I’m still keeping mine

My brother has an unopened GameCube version. Cheeky dude knew what's up even at 13.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Also, since the sealed first(-ish?) print version of Zelda NES sold for $870000 it seems prices of regular Joe versions of that game, like mine, have also risen. Looks like I could fetch a couple hundred euros for my copy if I wanted to now. But with that one I’ll also be keeping it.

Finally gave in and ordered the Zelda joy-cons. Interestingly they are fully available on Amazon Germany.
I constantly read that people can't find them and I just went and got them, kinda funny to me.

Yeah, I can't imagine parting with my NES Zelda either. It's just so special to me. I remember when my mom gave away a bunch of our NES games when I was a kid. I hid the Zelda games away, so they wouldn't be included

My favorite piece of physical media will forever be my gold collector's edition Ocarina cartridge, though.

Skyward Sword is scored 82 on MT. Solid, but not great. The scores for Zelda original releases vs remasters:

- Ocarina of Time 99 (N64) vs 94 (3DS)
- Majora's Mask 95 (N64) vs 89 (3DS)
- Wind Waker 96 (GC) vs 90 (Wii U)
- Twilight Princess 96 (GC) vs 86 (Wii U)
- Skyward Sword 93 (Wii) vs 82 (Switch)

I'm not really surprised to see such a steep decline in scores, as all Zelda remasters score worse compared to the original releases

And there's nothing much about SS remaster to make it better than the original. Even the 3DS games that were indeed remakes scored 5-6 points under the originals

Wind Waker isn't a remake, but has graphics and gameplay upgrades, -6 points nonetheless

Skyward Sword is more like Twilight Princess, both anemic remasters: -11 and -10 respectively

The low score may actually be due to BotW.  Once you've played that game, Skyward Sword isn't going to seem so great anymore.
